In Viet Tri city, ao dai rental shops, photo studios, makeup salons, etc. are entering the peak season, with a sudden increase in the number of customers from students to families and individuals who want to take photos on the occasion of graduation and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 * April 30, 2025).

Located on Le Quy Don Street, Viet Tri City, the Ao Dai Nang rental shop is a familiar destination for many young people, especially senior students entering the graduation season. The shop owner, Ms. Huyen Trang, said: “From the beginning of February to May every year, the number of customers coming to rent Ao Dai increases sharply. In addition, this year's April 30 holiday is an important milestone - the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, so the demand for taking souvenir photos with traditional Ao Dai has also increased significantly.”

With prices ranging from 100,000-500,000 VND/set, graduation photo outfits are increasingly diverse in style, color and size. Specifically, the rental price for Ao Dai ranges from 100,000-200,000 VND/set; shoes from 30,000-50,000 VND/pair,...

“Students often go in groups, choosing traditional white ao dai to take yearbook photos that reflect the school spirit. In recent days, red outfits with yellow stars or elegant monochrome ao dai have also been chosen by many people to record the historical mark of April 30 at historical sites and red addresses,” Ms. Huyen Trang added.

The bustling atmosphere was also recorded at many studios and photo shops in the city. According to records, from around the end of March, the studios began to "enter the season" with the number of customers booking yearbook photo shoots increasing many times compared to normal days. The weekends in April were mostly "fully booked".

The atmosphere of yearbook photography is bustling at many studios.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Diep, MIRA Studio store, Viet Tri city said: “Currently, the shooting schedule is fully booked for the month. Although our studio has 4 professional photographers, we still have to add more photographers and focus all our efforts on post-production to ensure product quality. On average, each shooting session for a class lasts from 3-5 hours, depending on the concept and the number of edited photos.”

In terms of price, the fee for taking yearbook photos ranges from 200,000-600,000 VND/student. For classes with higher requirements regarding creative ideas, shooting locations, long shooting duration or large number of edited photos, the price can be up to several million VND.

Mr. Vy Thanh Tung, Tc Media Company, Viet Tri City, also confirmed that he is working at full capacity to serve the increased demand on April 30. “Current customers are not only students but also families, women, children... They want to take souvenir photos at historical sites, museums, places decorated with colorful flags and flowers.

Despite the hot weather, having to move constantly and be creative, I still feel happy because my work contributes to helping people preserve memorable memories of the nation's important days."

In particular, Mr. Tung also took time to take free photos for children at the Hung Vuong Museum on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. This beautiful action received positive support and spread in the community.

Along with the demand for costume rental and photo shoots, makeup services are also in the "hot" season. According to records, makeup prices currently range from 200,000-300,000 VND/person, customers with higher requirements can pay a higher fee to be served by experienced technicians.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, owner of Tam Nguyen Makeup Academy in Viet Tri City, said: “Currently, we receive an average of 10-20 customers per week, with peak days doing makeup for 5-10 people. However, the shop only accepts a moderate number of customers to ensure quality. We always aim to bring outstanding looks, honoring the natural beauty and individuality of each customer.”

The makeup trend for this year’s graduation season leans toward a natural, gentle style – true to the youthful spirit of school age. For the photo albums commemorating April 30, many people choose a neat, solemn makeup style, showing respect for traditional values.

Ms. Do Thi Tuyet, Gia Cam Ward, Viet Tri City shared: I chose to take photos on April 30 this year because I wanted to capture beautiful moments on a major national holiday. No need to go far, just wear a red ao dai, stand in the midst of the flag-filled scenery at the Hung Vuong Museum to have photos that are both solemn and full of emotion...”

From costumes, makeup, to photography and post-production, every professional carries within them the joy of contributing to preserving memories, spreading love for the homeland through each camera angle. And in the hustle and bustle, they feel more clearly the value of their profession, a profession that not only brings income but also brings simple happiness, helps others become more beautiful, more confident and preserves unrepeatable moments.
