According to the 2023 high school graduation exam regulations, candidates are only allowed to bring into the exam room pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers, calculators without text editing functions, and the Vietnam Geography Atlas when taking the Geography exam.

Thus, candidates are not allowed to bring any type of recording device, even if it only has the function of recording information, but cannot listen, watch or transmit signals - which is allowed by current regulations.

In addition, instead of allowing candidates to leave the examination area after two-thirds of the essay time has passed, the draft regulations require candidates to remain in the waiting room for the remainder of the examination. They must still submit their papers, test questions, and scratch paper to the invigilator before leaving the room and moving to the waiting room.
