On October 9, the leader of the Dak Lak Department of Health said that the Department Inspectorate had verified the results of the case of medical staff in Cu M'gar district (Dak Lak province) having their preferential allowances cut by 10%.
According to the report of Cu M'gar District Medical Center, in July 2023, this unit organized an extraordinary 2023 Conference of civil servants and employees, approving the deduction of 10% of the amount of money of civil servants and employees who are entitled to preferential allowances to support those who are not entitled to it.
After the staff paid back 10%, Cu M'gar District Medical Center used more than 1.5 billion VND to pay back to the leaders and other employees. Accordingly, this amount was allocated to the Board of Directors (enjoying 90% preferential allowance), while other staff received equal support.
The Inspector of Dak Lak Department of Health concluded that the Cu M'gar District Medical Center's mobilization of 10% of the money from officials and civil servants who are entitled to preferential allowances to support officials and civil servants participating in epidemic prevention and control but are not entitled to preferential allowances is inappropriate.
The Health Department Inspectorate requested the Cu M'gar District Medical Center to return the recovered amount according to regulations; organize a review and clarify the responsibilities of collectives and individuals related to the shortcomings in advising on the implementation of returning 10% to support those who are not entitled to allowances.
