On June 1-2, Muong Khuong District Labor Federation successfully organized the 6th Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028.

This is the unit selected by the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) to direct the grassroots-level Trade Union Congress.

Attending the congress were leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Federations of Labor of districts, towns, cities, industry unions and equivalents in the province; Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, functional departments and offices of Muong Khuong district and 145 delegates representing over 2,000 union members of the district.

The report of the Executive Committee of the Muong Khuong District Trade Union, Term V, presented at the congress assessed: Currently, the District Labor Federation directly manages 2,318 union members with 89 grassroots unions. The average income of employees in the administrative and career sector is 6,860,000 VND/person/month; in the production and business sector, it is 4,900,000 VND/person/month. During the 2017-2022 term, trade unions at all levels in the district have made many innovations in organization, content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots level, bringing positive results, gradually meeting the requirements of union members.

Trade unions at all levels have performed well the function of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, civil servants and laborers, promoting grassroots democracy regulations, building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in agencies, units and enterprises. Notably, trade unions at all levels have promoted and mobilized support for the "Lao Cai Trade Union Social Fund" and other charity and humanitarian funds with over 386 million VND; supported the construction and repair of houses for 14 union member households with a total cost of 385 million VND (reaching 140% of the Congress resolution); school-based trade unions established funds to help 160 union members borrow interest-free capital to stabilize their lives. Social charity work for union members and laborers has always been of interest to the District Labor Federation, connecting with a total mobilized value of over 4.4 billion VND...

Trade unions at all levels organized patriotic emulation movements to contribute to the successful completion of the task of local economic and social development. During the past term, 1 individual was recognized as a provincial-level initiative, 1,228 individuals were recognized as grassroots-level initiatives, 739 individuals were recognized as grassroots-level emulation fighters; 6,860 female union members achieved the title of "Good at public affairs, good at housework" at all levels; 89% of agencies, units and enterprises achieved "Cultural Standards".

Implementing the Project "Strengthening the development of union members, innovating and improving the quality of grassroots union activities in non-state enterprises", in the past term, 2 non-state grassroots unions were developed (achieving 100% of the Congress resolution target) and 309 union members were admitted (achieving 77% of the Congress resolution target).

With the slogan of action "Focusing on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, continuing to innovate the content and methods of Muong Khuong district union activities", the congress determined the general goal for the 2023 - 2028 term, which is: Building a strong Muong Khuong district union, performing well its functions and tasks in the new situation, playing a good role as a bridge between the Party, the State and the working class and workers; contributing to building a modern and strong working class, being the pioneer force in carrying out the task of building Muong Khuong district to become increasingly developed.

In particular, a number of targets are directly under the responsibility of the trade union organization, such as: Striving to recruit 200 or more new union members; striving for 80% of units and enterprises that are eligible to establish a trade union organization; striving to introduce to the Party over 400 outstanding union members for consideration and training; annually, 100% of trade unions at all levels effectively organize emulation movements launched by the trade union; annually, at least 90% of grassroots trade unions are classified as having completed their tasks well or better; annually, requesting the Provincial Federation of Labor to support the construction and repair of at least 2 "Union shelters" for union members in difficult circumstances; having over 90% of female union members and workers achieve the emulation title "Good at public work, good at housework" at all levels; striving to collect 100% of financial resources for units and enterprises with trade unions...

In the spirit of democracy and objectivity, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Muong Khuong District Labor Federation, term VI, consisting of 15 comrades. At the first meeting, the Executive Committee of the District Labor Federation, term VI, elected 5 comrades to the Standing Committee; elected the positions of Chairman, 2 Vice Chairmen and the Inspection Committee consisting of 3 members.

The congress also elected 11 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the 17th Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028.

Immediately after the 6th Muong Khuong District Trade Union Congress ended, the Provincial Federation of Labor held a meeting to evaluate the results and draw lessons to direct the organization of the grassroots Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term.
