The previous record was set by a group of 724 students in Dallas, USA, on October 31, 2016.

1,668 students aged 12 to 67 took part in a programming class at the University of Lisbon, Portugal.
"The total number of students is calculated based on attendance and the programming class attracted 1,668 participants," said Guinness World Records adjudicator Paulina Sapinska.
Organizers seek to draw more international attention to Portugal as a growing IT hub.
IST Dean Rogerio Colaco says that computer literacy today is the same as reading and writing 100 years ago, which means that "everyone has to know a little bit about computer science, about programming, to live in today's world".
