Da Nang continuously welcomes international flights, expanding global connection network

VHO - On June 28, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang city announced that it will coordinate with Philippine Airlines and Vietnam Airlines to organize a program to welcome new international flights landing in the city.

Specifically, from 12:00 to 14:00 on July 1, at the lobby outside the International Arrivals Terminal - Da Nang International Airport, the event to welcome passengers on the first flight of Philippine Airlines from Manila (Philippines) will officially take place.

At the same time, two days later, on July 3, Da Nang is expected to organize a program to welcome a flight from Osaka (Japan) to the city. Both events aim to mark the strengthening of tourism and trade connections between the coastal city and key destinations in the Asian region.

According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, up to now, Da Nang has a total of 25 direct flights, with an average frequency of 118 flights/day. Of which, 8 domestic flights connect the city with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Lat and Phu Quoc, reaching an average of 65 flights/day.

The international network is increasingly expanding with 17 regular routes connecting to major tourist markets: Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Taipei - Kaohsiung (Taiwan - China), Macau, Hong Kong (China), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Incheon - Busan - Daegu - Cheongju (Korea), Narita (Japan), Manila (Philippines), Ahmedabad (India), Yangon (Myanmar) and Dubai (UAE), with an average frequency of 53 flights/day.

Notably, in the first 6 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed 2 new regular international flights from Yangon and Dubai and 3 charter flights from Nursultan, Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Tashkent (Uzbekistan), with a total frequency of about 20 flights/week.

From July 1, Vietnam Airlines will operate the Osaka - Da Nang route, while Philippine Airlines will operate the Manila - Da Nang route. In addition, Parata Air plans to open the Incheon - Da Nang route in October 2025, and Scoot Airlines will operate the Singapore - Da Nang route from September 2025.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, in the first 5 months of 2025, the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang is estimated at nearly 17,900, an increase of 10.6% over the same period last year. The total number of visitors to the city by air reached more than 2.9 million, an increase of 10.32% over the same period in 2024. The average frequency is estimated at 118 flights/day.

Top 10 international tourist markets in Da Nang in the first 5 months of 2025: South Korea (33%), India (7.4%), Taiwan (7.1%), China (7%), USA (5%), Thailand (4.53%), Japan (4.05%), Australia (3.24%), Malaysia (3.11%), Russia (2.83%).

The continuous reception of new international flights not only expands the aviation connection network but also contributes to promoting tourism, trade, investment, and consolidating Da Nang's position as a dynamic regional and international destination.
