French-Indochinese architecture, precious gems in Hanoi, compiled by National Archives Center I and edited by journalist Tran Huu Phuc Tien, is considered a classy "art album" about French architectural imprints in Hanoi.
The outstanding feature of the work compared to previous publications on Hanoi architecture is that in addition to the design drawings, there are also carefully collected and selected documentary photos, accompanied by explanations in 3 languages: Vietnamese - French - English.
With the experience of combining both serious scientific qualities and flexible literary qualities, the book is revealed with different layers of sediment: many levels, colonial history, history of diplomatic relations...
Other strata of indigenous people and since the French arrived in Indochina, help readers understand more about French architecture in the context of Indochina.

French-Indochinese architecture, precious gems in Hanoi takes readers to explore 37 French-Indochinese architectural works around the capital.
Author Phuc Tien and the editorial team have divided the works by district, area, and locality. The scientific and intuitive design invites readers to walk on each page of the book.
The tour starts from the political center: Ba Dinh Square, Ba Dinh district; the end point is Doumer bridge (Long Bien bridge).
Many of the research objects may not be new, such as the Opera House, Long Bien Bridge, Pasteur Institute, Louis Finot Museum, etc., but with a sophisticated and novel way of doing things, choosing photos and materials.
In particular, the book also features works that even many people who claim to know a lot about Hanoi have only recently come across for the first time. For example: House No. 6 Hoang Dieu or Villa No. 18 Tong Dan, both of which have just turned 100 years old.
