Three exciting sea sports events at Back Beach, Vung Tau

On the evening of May 1, at the Cot Co stage area (Thuy Van Street, Vung Tau City), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province organized the opening ceremony of three special sporting events including: Art Kite Festival, International Sailing Race and Open Lion - Lion - Dragon Dance Competition. The activities will take place continuously until May 3 at Bai Sau beach area.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien presented souvenir flags to units and athletes participating in competitions and performances at three sporting events held in Vung Tau City.

The art kite festival gathered more than 200 artists from 20 domestic and foreign groups. More than 200 traditional and modern kites, including dozens of giant aerodynamic kites and LED kites, were displayed, creating a colorful picture in the sky and sea.

In addition, the first International Sailing Race held in Vung Tau attracted nearly 100 athletes from 20 units across the country. The teams competed in large sailboats, Olympic-sized single and double boats, creating an exciting, professional atmosphere amidst the windy seascape.

On January 1 alone, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province welcomed more than 202,000 visitors.

At the same time, the 2025 Open Lion - Unicorn - Dragon Competition took place with the participation of nearly 400 athletes from strong teams across the country. Performances such as Mai Hoa Thung, dragon dance, lion dance, and dia buu were performed in the evenings from May 1 to 3, attracting a large audience.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that this is a series of practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. According to Ms. Hien, the events not only serve the entertainment needs of the people and tourists but also contribute to promoting the image of Vung Tau sea tourism to the world. "In particular, the first international yacht race will lay the foundation for long-term international competitions, turning Vung Tau into a destination for yachts in the future," she emphasized.

The province also stepped up urban beautification and environmental sanitation to ensure the best conditions to welcome tourists. During the first two days of the holiday, Ba Ria - Vung Tau recorded a sharp increase in the number of visitors. On May 1 alone, the total number of visitors and those staying at beaches, hotels and tourist attractions in the province reached more than 202,000, an increase of 41% over the same period last year. Localities such as Vung Tau City, Xuyen Moc, Long Dien, and Con Dao all welcomed a large number of visitors thanks to favorable weather and a series of attractive cultural and sports activities.

Through three large-scale and methodical marine sports events, Ba Ria - Vung Tau continues to affirm its position as a leading destination in the Southern region, not only because of its natural landscape but also thanks to the new vitality of modern, professional, and unique cultural, sports and tourism activities.

The Center for Management and Support of Tourists in Vung Tau City (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) said that on the third day of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the city welcomed about 85,000 people swimming in the sea, a slight increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the Vung Tau City Tourist Management and Support Center, thanks to the strengthening of propaganda and supervision, there have been no drowning or other accidents related to swimming. Along the entire beach and tourist area, 26 rescue and medical staff and 93 support staff from business units have been mobilized to be on duty 100%. A system of buoys, jet skis, loudspeakers and warning signs have also been fully deployed to ensure the safety of tourists.

Control of business activities, environmental sanitation and security and order were also strictly maintained. During the day, the authorities reminded and dispersed 27 groups of tourists who ate and drank in violation of regulations, handled 3 cases of street vendors, and promptly prevented littering and illegal gold mining. In addition, the Center also recorded 13 cases of direct support and 55 cases of travel advice, searching for and safely returning 2 lost children to their families.

Tourist services will continue to be maintained at a high level until the end of the May 4 holiday to ensure a safe and civilized experience for residents and visitors to the coastal city.

More than 160,000 tourists came to Hue during the April 30 and May 1 holidays

Hue City Department of Tourism said that during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, Hue City welcomed more than 160,000 tourists to the locality.

The accommodation occupancy rate in the area reached 98%. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 330 billion VND. Of which, the relic sites in the Complex of Hue Monuments welcomed more than 48,500 visitors, including 29,739 on May 1 alone, including more than 2,680 international visitors.

On the occasion of April 30 - May 1, in Hue city, there are many events and activities organized such as: Hue - Culinary Capital Program taking place from April 29 - May 2 at Thuong Bac Park; exhibition "Tourism space, cultural heritage, scenic spots and traditional handicraft products of Vietnam" taking place from April 27 - May 2 at Hue City Cultural - Cinema Center; "Rural market festival" program responding to National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 at Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge community tourism site (Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy town) from April 30 - May 4 and many other programs and activities.

Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that in order to serve the people and tourists during the April 30 - May 1, 2025 holiday in a thoughtful and safe manner, the Hue tourism industry has proactively coordinated with relevant agencies to synchronously deploy many solutions and plans to stimulate tourism during the year, such as strengthening the work of ensuring security and order, environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, controlling service prices, as well as organizing attractive entertainment activities... to meet the sightseeing and relaxation needs of the people and tourists.

In addition, to ensure the safety and quality of services for tourists, the Department of Tourism has requested tourism businesses and tourist areas/destinations in the area to carefully prepare to welcome tourists during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, improve the quality of services, improve the quality of tourism products, prepare adequate and professional human and material resources to be ready to welcome visitors to Hue.
