Cuba attaches special importance to the friendship and cooperation with Vietnam.

Cuban leaders expressed their joy at the results achieved in recent times and wished to continue to promote further effective cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

From June 25-26, a delegation of the Central External Relations Commission led by Mr. Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central External Relations Commission, visited and worked in Cuba.

During the visit, the delegation met with Politburo member and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba Roberto Morales Ojeda; Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Economic and Production Commission Joel Queipo Ruiz; held talks with the Communist Party of Cuba delegation led by Head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Cuba Ratmir Lozada García; met and discussed with Party Central Committee member and Rector of the Higher Party School Ñico López Rosario del Pilar Pentón Díaz, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Cuban National Assembly Rolando Miguel González Patricio, and President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples Fernando Gonzalez.

The delegation laid flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the park named after him in the capital Havana and visited the rice cooperation project between the two countries.

At the working sessions, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung conveyed the greetings of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to the leaders of Cuba; affirmed the importance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the traditional relationship of special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba , which was cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro; expressed respect and appreciation for the achievements that Cuba has made in socio-economic development, maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security despite many difficulties due to natural disasters, epidemics, adverse impacts of the world economy and embargoes; affirmed Vietnam's stance of opposing and requesting the early lifting of unilateral embargoes against Cuba.

Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung reported to the Cuban leaders on the results of cooperation between the two Central External Relations Commissions of the two Parties, proposed a number of directions and measures to promote relations between the Party commissions, contributing to strengthening and improving the effectiveness of cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples; at the same time, informed about the results achieved in implementing the guidelines of the 13th National Congress, introduced and presented the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam."

The Cuban leaders expressed their gratitude for the valuable support and assistance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to Cuba's revolutionary cause; emphasized that Cuba attaches special importance to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam; expressed their joy at the results achieved in the past time and wished to continue to promote the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

Cuban leaders affirmed that despite many difficulties, Cuba will definitely overcome them; announced that they will coordinate with Vietnam to solemnly organize the 50th anniversary of the day Fidel Castro visited the liberated area of ​​South Vietnam in Quang Tri; and wished to increase high-level exchanges and contacts between the two sides in the coming time.

During the talks between the two Central External Relations Commissions, the two sides discussed specific cooperation directions and measures; agreed to strengthen coordination in implementing the Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for the 2023-2028 period between the two Parties, contributing to the implementation of common perceptions and high-level agreements, especially the content of the high-level online talks between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and First Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel, cooperation programs and plans between the two countries and localities in the coming time, supporting cooperation activities between mass organizations and people of the two countries./.
