Promoting the role of the Union

Mr. Vo Huu Hai - Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial Civil Servants' Union - said: In the 2017-2023 term, the team of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers (CBCCVC-LĐ) has developed in both quantity and quality; has been rejuvenated, has the ability to access information technology, meeting the requirements of administrative reform. At the same time, it has promoted the role of research, consulting, proposing and implementing the socio-economic development goals and tasks of the province. The Provincial Civil Servants' Union has constantly innovated its methods of operation, organized emulation movements, promoted cultural and artistic movements, physical training and sports; strengthened the dissemination of laws and mobilized CBCCVC-LĐ to practice thrift, fight waste and negativity.

According to Mr. Ksor Kut - Deputy Director of the Provincial Tax Department, Chairman of the Provincial Tax Department's Trade Union: The leaders of the Tax Department together with the Trade Union Executive Committee focus on administrative reform, control of administrative procedures, closely direct the application of information technology in management and operation, considering this an important goal to build a modern administrative agency towards a state administration serving and providing online public services to people and businesses at levels 3 and 4 according to the roadmap of the Government, the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Taxation.

The campaign to build "Loyalty - Responsibility - Integrity - Creativity" civil servants and public employees has also been concretized by the provincial Labor Union into practical emulation movements such as: good advice, good service; building a cultural agency and a quality, effective 8-hour working day; practicing thrift, fighting corruption, waste, physical exercise and exercising during working hours among civil servants and public employees in the period of 2019-2023. Cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers compete to practice office culture associated with the campaign "Civil servants and public employees say no to negativity".

The Department of Justice is one of the units that effectively implement emulation movements. Mr. Nguyen Cao Tri - Chairman of the Department of Justice Trade Union - said: Every year, the Trade Union Executive Committee coordinates with the Board of Directors to implement a plan to propagate and educate the law among civil servants, public employees, and workers, especially at the grassroots level. Thereby, improving the understanding and knowledge of the law for civil servants, public employees, and people, helping everyone understand that the law is a tool to protect their legitimate rights and interests.

Other movements were also responded to and launched by the provincial Trade Union and achieved good results such as: The project to plant 1 billion trees "For a green Vietnam" in the period of 2021-2025 launched by the Prime Minister; The program "1 million initiatives, efforts, creativity, overcoming difficulties, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic"; the campaign "Civil servants, public employees and laborers compete to build cultural offices" ...

“The emulation movements have motivated the staff to compete to complete their assigned tasks well, promote their intelligence, creativity, and passion in research, advise and propose policies, and improve effective working methods. Through this, the trade unions have discovered, trained, and introduced 539 outstanding union members to the Party, and 190 union members have been admitted to the Party,” Mr. Hai emphasized.

Caring for the lives of employees

During the 2017-2023 term, the Provincial Trade Union has directed the grassroots trade unions to maintain and organize social activities to promptly support union members, civil servants and employees who have serious illnesses, serious illnesses, and housing difficulties. The Executive Boards of the grassroots trade unions have coordinated with the leaders of agencies and units to effectively implement policies on salary, bonus, health insurance, visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, etc. The grassroots trade unions have coordinated with the leaders of agencies and units to guarantee the salary fund for civil servants and employees to borrow capital from banks, and maintain revolving capital contributions. The Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Union has coordinated with the Executive Board of the grassroots trade unions to support the construction of 6 "Union Warm Houses" for union members with housing difficulties worth nearly 300 million VND from the "Union Warm House" fund of the Provincial Labor Federation.

From 2017 to present, the Trade Unions have mobilized union members to actively participate in social activities and contribute to social funds such as: Trade Union Shelter, Spring for Soldiers, support for the Central region affected by floods, Covid-19 Vaccine Fund... with a total amount of nearly 1.5 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut - Vice Principal, Chairman of Gia Lai College Trade Union - expressed: Gia Lai College Trade Union currently has 8 Trade Union groups with 197 union members. During the past term, the school's leaders have paid attention to fully implementing policies and allowances; regularly supporting cadres, teachers and employees in difficult circumstances to help them feel secure in their work.

The women's activities of the provincial and affiliated trade unions have always received the attention and direction of the superior trade unions, with diverse contents and forms of implementation. The Standing Committee of the provincial trade unions has created conditions for the provincial trade union mass women's committee and the grassroots trade union mass women's committee to operate effectively and practically, especially taking care of the material and spiritual life of female civil servants, public employees and workers; effectively implementing the movement "Good at public work, good at housework" associated with the movement "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families"; every year, over 95% of female cadres and union members achieve the title "Good at public work, good at housework".
