Attending the Congress on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Trade Union were Mr. Pham Dinh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Trade Union; On behalf of the Vietnam Minerals Administration, there were leaders of the Department, leaders of specialized departments and all members of the Vietnam Minerals Administration's grassroots Trade Union.

Comprehensively carry out political and professional tasks

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Tran Phuong - Deputy Director, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Vietnam Minerals Department said: The Trade Union of the Vietnam Minerals Department has been established and operated for more than 5 months. Up to now, the Provisional Trade Union Executive Committee has actively promoted its role in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, while also being a bridge with authorities at all levels, propagating the Party's guiding viewpoints and legal policies to all civil servants, public employees and workers; promptly encouraging and promoting the spirit of solidarity, determination and creativity to contribute to the good performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities.

This congress is a very important meeting, aiming to set out directions and goals for the activities of the next term; at the same time, wisely select comrades with sufficient political qualities, revolutionary ethics, leadership capacity, mettle and intelligence to meet the increasingly high requirements of the cause of innovation, capable of leading the completion of the tasks of the trade union organization in the coming years, to be elected to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union, Term I, 2023 - 2028.

Reporting at the Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Mai Lan - Vice President of the Trade Union of the Vietnam Minerals Department said: Although the Trade Union of the Vietnam Minerals Department has just started operating, with the attention of the Party Committee and the Department's leaders, the Trade Union of the Department has comprehensively implemented political and professional tasks to ensure progress and efficiency.

The Department's Trade Union has directed its member grassroots trade unions to organize propaganda on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws for union members; organize patriotic emulation movements among cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; especially care for and protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; develop union members and build strong union organizations.

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2023-2028 term, Vice President of the Trade Union Bui Thi Mai Lan said that the Trade Union of the Vietnam Minerals Department will continue to improve the quality of consulting and researching to build legal policies; perform well the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers; and promote the care of practical interests for union members.

The Department's Trade Union will also strengthen information, propaganda and education work to contribute to improving the qualifications, capacity and quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees to meet the requirements of the period of promoting industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration; develop union members along with improving quality, managing union members, building a strong union organization; participate in coordinating with unit leaders to effectively implement democratic regulations at the workplace...

At the Congress, representatives of member grassroots trade unions under the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union contributed ideas and proposed many practical solutions to promote the effective implementation of tasks and directions of activities of the Department Trade Union in the 2023-2028 term.

Organizational innovation, improving the effectiveness of trade union activities

Speaking at the Congress, Vice President of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Trade Union Vu Thi Mai Lan assessed that, in the development trend of science and technology, especially information technology, the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union has proactively innovated the content and methods of operation to improve work efficiency; coordinated with the Youth Union and authorities at all levels to build civilized and cultural offices, creating a working environment of solidarity, joy, democracy, and labor competition; and paid attention to the material and spiritual life of union members.

During the 2023-2028 term, Ms. Vu Thi Mai Lan requested the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union to step up propaganda and mobilization work for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and union members to closely follow the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, the State's policies and laws, constantly improve political and ideological education, revolutionary ethics, regularly cultivate ethics and lifestyle, bring cultural and spiritual activities to a large number of union members, as well as fight against wrong views.

At the same time, it is necessary to carry out well the work of giving opinions on Party building, improve operational efficiency to better meet the requirements and tasks set for the management work of the Vietnam Minerals Department in the new situation.

In addition, strengthen cultural and sports movements; build a civilized environment in the workplace; regularly care for and look after the legitimate interests of union members; implement welfare programs, care for material and spiritual interests, gather workers, promote the intelligence and creativity of union members to create strong breakthroughs in implementing political tasks.

Furthermore, continue to effectively carry out the campaign to build "Loyal, Responsible, Integrity, and Creativity" cadres, civil servants, and public employees in conjunction with "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle", especially promoting the role of cadres, civil servants, and union members in implementing the 12th Party Central Committee's Resolution 4 on "Strengthening Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party".

In addition, innovate the organization and improve the effectiveness of trade union activities in the new situation, foster and improve the theoretical level, capacity and skills of trade union officials to perform well the assigned tasks; select, foster and introduce outstanding trade union members to the Party for consideration of admission to the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - Party Secretary, Director of the Vietnam Minerals Department highly appreciated the preparations for the Congress of the Provisional Trade Union Executive Committee. According to him, the Trade Union Congress of the Department took place in the context that the Vietnam Minerals Department as well as the Trade Union organization of the Department had just come into operation, with a lot of work, from transitional tasks to new tasks, all cadres and union members strived to fulfill the political tasks of the unit, especially the task of developing the Law on Geology and Minerals, the task of developing the Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Decrees detailing the Law on Minerals.

“The 2023-2028 term is very important for the activities of the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union. Promoting the results achieved in the past time, considering them as favorable premises and opportunities for the activities of the Department Trade Union, while also containing intertwined difficulties and challenges, the Department Trade Union needs to focus on comprehensively innovating the content and methods of operation, practically taking care of the interests of union members, associated with representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, in order to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations, participate in building a clean and strong Party, and build a sustainable development Department”, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang emphasized.

At the Congress, with high consensus and trust, delegates attending the Congress elected 7 outstanding comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term; elected 2 official delegates to represent the Vietnam Minerals Department Trade Union to attend the Congress of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term.
