Announcing the list of qualified candidates for Professor and Associate Professor in 2023

On November 6, the State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates recognized as meeting the standards of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023. This is the result of the 12th Session of the State Council of Professors for the 2018-2023 term, which took place on November 4-5.

Specifically, there are 630 candidates who are qualified for recognition of the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023 from 648 candidates proposed by 28 Councils of Professors of different disciplines and interdisciplinary. Of these, 58 candidates meet the standards for recognition of the title of Professor, 572 candidates meet the standards for recognition of the title of Associate Professor. Thus, in the voting round of the State Council of Professors, there are 2 candidates for Professor and 19 candidates for Associate Professor who do not meet the standards.

Thus, compared to the number of candidates nominated by the Faculty Council of the industry and interdisciplinary, the percentage of candidates meeting the standards for recognition as Professors and Associate Professors this year is 97%. Compared to the Faculty Council of the base, the percentage is nearly 85%.

The field of economics has the most candidates recognized as Professor and Associate Professor with 92 people; the field of medicine has 63 people... Three fields and interdisciplinary fields do not have candidates recognized as Professor, including: Linguistics, History - Archeology - Ethnology and Literature. In 2023, there are 11 female candidates meeting the standards of Professor (in 2022 there were only 4 people).

The three youngest Professor candidates recognized this year were born in 1984: Tran Xuan Bach, Faculty of Medicine, Hanoi Medical University and two Professors from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology: Nguyen Dai Hai, Faculty of Chemistry, working at the Institute of Chemical Technology; Doan Thai Son, Faculty of Mathematics, working at the Institute of Mathematics.

The two youngest Associate Professors born in 1990 are: Le Thanh Ha (National Economics University) and Nguyen Thi Hong Nham ( Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics).
