The most obvious example is probably Cong Hien, son of artist Ai Nhu, at Hoang Thai Thanh Stage. On the evening of August 9, Hoang Thai Thanh Stage performed the new play Run to Yesterday (script: Chau Bich Thuy) edited and directed by Cong Hien. This is the second time Hien has taken on this important role since the play Gia Uoc (in 2017, from a project at Hoa Sen University).

At the age of 7, Hien participated in a television drama with his mother Nhu in the play Cu lao tinh . At the age of 9, he stepped onto the stage of the 5B Drama Theater with the play Ban tay cua troi .

Since artists Thanh Hoi and Ai Nhu established the Hoang Thai Thanh Theater, Hien has continuously appeared in small roles in plays such as Buying love insurance, Half a life of bewilderment, When will the river run out, Saigon has a crossroads ...

Under the guidance of Ai Nhu and Thanh Hoi, Hien learned staging work as an assistant director for a series of plays such as Trai tim oan khan, Tra lai lia thia, Toc mai trop trop trop long, Lac o day song, Con me cuoi cuoi cuoi ...

Not only that, Hien currently also has a very important role as manager and operator of Hoang Thai Thanh Stage.

Having a mother who is a famous artist and manager, Khoi Nguyen, son of artist Hong Van, also stepped onto the stage early.

Hong Van said that when he was 3 or 4 years old, Khoi Nguyen acted in the movie Ve que an Tet with artist Viet Huong. At Hong Van Drama Theater, Nguyen participated in many plays with small roles, including the play Mother and Lover which won the gold medal at the 2009 National Drama Festival.

In 9th grade, the young man went to the US to study film directing and screenwriting. Khoi Nguyen returned to Vietnam about two years ago.

Besides film projects, he often appears on the Hong Van stage, most recently in the plays Another War and Forensic Revenge . Not only acting, Nguyen also supports his mother in communication work, promoting the Hong Van drama stage.

Continuing the passion for theater

Cong Hien confided that because he followed his mother to perform since he was young, he fell in love with the stage without realizing it. Besides, he was lucky to learn from talented artists like Thanh Hoi and Ai Nhu, so Hien soon formed a very serious sense of doing stage work.

If anyone is a "regular" audience of Hoang Thai Thanh stage, they will realize that in each event and each play, Hien and his crew take very delicate care, bringing many emotions so that the audience can receive the play better.

In the latest play Run to Yesterday, although it will probably receive different opinions, what Hien did was breathe youthful energy into the play, a bit strange compared to Hoang Thai Thanh's old-fashioned taste.

Talking about her son, artist Hong Van confided that although Khoi Nguyen majored in cinema, she could feel his passion for the stage.

"Besides my son's passion, I also force him to perform on stage to learn and gain more experience. After all, his main major is still film. As a future film director, if he knows how to act, he will be able to direct better and will know how to make films to touch the hearts of the audience" - Hong Van said and she also added that she wanted her son to take over the stage, but because Nguyen's future direction is film, she just let everything be up to fate.

Ai Nhu has shared many times that having Cong Hien help her and artist Thanh Hoi makes things easier. After a period of being "trained" by Ai Nhu and Thanh Hoi, Cong Hien is showing his maturity. He is also aware of his responsibility and determined to make an effort to continue the passion of those who came before him.
