On the morning of March 3, Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, said that the Provincial People's Committee has approved the enrollment plan for the first grade classes of the 2025-2026 school year. In particular, for the 10th grade entrance exam, candidates will know their exam scores before registering their wishes to attend their desired school.

Specifically, the admission plan for grade 10 at public high schools in Quang Tri will be divided into 2 rounds.

In round 1, candidates will take exams in three subjects: math, literature and English. Literature will be in essay format, math in multiple choice format and English in essay format combined with testing of three skills: listening, reading and writing.

After completing round 1 and having the exam results, candidates will register their wishes in round 2. Each candidate can only register 1 wish for 1 public school with high school level.

Admission score is the total score of round 1 exam combined with the results of study and training in 4 years of secondary school, priority points, and incentive points if any.

According to Ms. Le Thi Huong, the above admission method was piloted by Quang Tri province last year and officially applied this year.

"This way, students will be proactive in choosing their desired schools, suitable for their exam results. Besides, it will also reduce pressure on schools, and application files will be distributed more evenly among schools instead of being concentrated in a certain school," said Ms. Huong.

In most localities, students must register their wishes to enter grade 10 of public high schools before the entrance exam. This leads to cases where due to inappropriate registration of wishes, candidates either fail all their wishes or enter schools with much lower exam scores. The method of enrolling grade 10 students for the 2025-2026 school year in Quang Tri province is a new direction compared to other localities.
