The state visit of the Russian President to Vietnam is a signal that Russia's top leaders are very interested in this relationship. Dr. Timofeev said that promoting economic and trade cooperation will be one of the top priorities of the two countries. He also predicted that the Russian leader's visit would create momentum for the digitalization sector. Russia has built up a good foundation in the digital technology sector and is ready to share its achievements. In addition, oil and gas remains one of the leading areas of economic cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. In 2024, the Russian Federation will assume the rotating chairmanship of the BRICS group (including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).
