On January 10, according to Thanh Nien reporter's source, Ca Mau Provincial Inspectorate has just concluded an inspection on the operation, management and use of public assets and financial resources at the province's Historical Archives Center.
Accordingly, the Inspectorate of Ca Mau province proposed to transfer the case file of violations with signs of crime at the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center to the investigation agency.
Inspectors said that the establishment of a living fund at the Ca Mau Province Historical Archives Center showed signs of crime.
Specifically, the case file was transferred to the investigation agency for handling according to its authority regarding the establishment and use of a life fund with an amount of 4 billion VND, showing signs of illegal fund establishment, as stipulated in Article 205 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017). This includes the commission revenue of more than 455 million VND to establish the fund; the amount of money the individual returned from the fee for editing documents of 3.6 billion VND.
In the above fund, the Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Historical Archives Center reported that the amount spent to support groups and individuals outside the center was more than 888 million VND, but upon verification, most of the organizations and individuals did not admit it.
Ca Mau Provincial Inspectorate concluded that this behavior has signs of embezzlement, as prescribed in Article 353 of the 2015 Penal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017).
