Vietjet flight departs early to transport donated heart

To ensure timely delivery of the heart, Vietjet adjusted the flight departure time 10 minutes earlier, from 11:10 to 11:00, while still ensuring flight safety requirements. On October 26, Vietjet flight number VJ1567 transported the staff of the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, doctors from Bach Mai Hospital, and the heart of a donated patient from Hanoi to Hue for timely transplantation into a young man with heart failure. The donor was Mr. LTS, 36 years old, a brain-dead patient at Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi). His heart was transferred to Hue Central Hospital for transplantation into a 39-year-old patient with severe heart failure. At the same time, his liver was transplanted into a patient with liver failure at 108 Military Central Hospital, and 2 kidneys were transplanted into 2 patients with end-stage renal failure at Bach Mai Hospital.
The donated heart was transported by Vietjet from Hanoi to Hue for timely transplant to the patient.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared: “This life transfer was a challenging journey and brought good results, reviving 4 lives.”

We have coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure special priority for this transport”. “Mr. LTS's heart has started beating again in the recipient's chest. Patients who received kidney and liver transplants are also recovering well, and the transplanted organs are functioning stably,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co.
