Popular art and political program

According to the Department of Performing Arts, on this special occasion, 12 theaters under the ministry have created and performed special art programs to serve the public nationwide.

Dozens of shows with about 1,500 actors participating, hundreds of performances were held in April and early May, not only in big cities but also in remote areas.

People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts - said that the series of art programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification is not only a commemorative activity, but also an opportunity for culture and art to arouse national pride, fostering patriotism in every Vietnamese citizen today and tomorrow.

Notably, theater leaders said that these art programs are attracting public attention and tickets are selling well.

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation - said that the federation's circus show Non Song Ngay Thong Reunification will be performed for three nights at the Central Circus, and tickets for the show are selling well.

Mr. Thang said that not only this program but also circus plays on the theme of revolutionary war by the Vietnam Circus Federation in recent years have still sold tickets well and attracted many visitors.

Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh - Deputy Director of the Youth Theater - said that the musical Fire from the Earth praising the birth of the Hanoi Party Committee and the capital's children who followed the March Revolution, which was performed two nights at the Hanoi Friendship Palace, also sold well.

On April 26, the theater will perform one more night at the Hanoi Friendship Palace with 1,000 seats. Despite "selling tickets bare-handed", the theater has already sold about 50% of the tickets.

Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater is also selling very well tickets for the Truong Son Memories music night with the participation of legendary singers Trung Duc, Thu Hien, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tho.

The theater representative said that in addition to the performance at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of April 27, Son Tay town is also inviting the theater to perform on the evening of April 29 in this town.

People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong - Deputy Director in charge of the Vietnam Cheo Theater - also shared the good news that the classic plays that the theater performed on this important anniversary were almost sold out.
