Ms. Do Thi Thanh Tam, Head of the Women's Association of Khu hamlet, Bac Phong commune (Cao Phong) in her daily work.
As the head of the Women's Association at the grassroots level, Ms. Tam always plays a leading and exemplary role. She actively propagates and mobilizes members to implement the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws and major campaigns of the Vietnam Women's Union, especially "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle". For her, learning from Uncle Ho is not something lofty but starts with small, simple, and familiar things in daily life.
She herself often spends time studying documents about Uncle Ho, integrating learning and following Uncle Ho into the association's activities to spread the spirit to each member. In her daily life, she always maintains a simple, frugal lifestyle, works hard, and is not afraid of hardship or difficulty. In particular, she focuses on practicing thrift - one of the qualities that President Ho Chi Minh always emphasized. From saving electricity and water, reusing items that are still valuable, she also encourages members to make use of recycled waste for household items, creating a habit of thrift in the family.
Not only enthusiastic in the Association's work, Ms. Do Thi Thanh Tam also actively develops the family economy. Realizing that the need for waste treatment in the locality is quite large, many people do not know how to classify household waste, she boldly opened a scrap collection facility in her own small house. The scrap collection job helps increase income, contributes to environmental protection, and raises awareness of waste classification for people in the neighborhood.
Every day, she cycles or walks to each house to collect scrap such as scrap paper, plastic bottles, iron, steel, old electrical appliances, etc. She collects and carefully sorts the small items and then sells them to professional processing units. Although the income from the job is not large, more importantly, it is her way of spreading the spirit of "diligence and thrift" that Uncle Ho once taught. The money earned helps cover the family's living expenses, and she also sets aside a small portion to support members in difficult circumstances and poor children in the neighborhood.
Through this simple but practical work, she has contributed to spreading awareness of environmental protection and building a frugal, nature-friendly lifestyle. Many members have seen her work effectively and have followed her example, creating the movement of "one bag of recycled trash per house", "collecting scrap to raise funds for the association" at the Khu hamlet women's association.
Under the management of Ms. Tam, the Khu hamlet women's association maintains a regular routine and builds diverse activity models such as: "Association of 5 no's, 3 cleans", "Association with no members violating the law and social evils", monthly village road cleaning movement... All of which contribute to building a positive cultural and spiritual life in the community.
Comrade Bui Thi Dung, President of the Women's Union of Bac Phong commune, said: "Ms. Do Thi Thanh Tam is an exemplary, responsible and dedicated union official to the women's movement. She is always at the forefront of the Union's activities, especially in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Her specific actions have spread the spirit of learning from Uncle Ho to each member, contributing to building an increasingly strong Union organization."
