During the resistance war against American imperialism, Truong Bon became a strategic location, a particularly important single route; a place to fiercely resist many fierce attacks by the enemy.

Soldiers, army men, and youth volunteers worked day and night to clear bombs, repair roads, and open routes, connecting the cross-Vietnam traffic arteries from the great rear of the socialist North to the great frontline battlefield of the South.
