At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Bac, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ca Mau province, said that the province currently has more than 9,020 operating enterprises, of which small and medium enterprises account for about 98%. The results of digital transformation in enterprises have achieved many basic results such as: 100% of enterprises deploy electronic invoices; 97% of enterprises register and pay taxes electronically; nearly 170 enterprises build e-commerce websites; nearly 12,710 digital signatures are issued to more than 4,870 enterprises; over 1,260 enterprises and business households deploy sales management software...

However, Ca Mau province is in the group with a lower-than-average enterprise density, small-sized enterprises, mainly households. Traditional production and business habits are still common, and there is a fear of change. Digital human resources and technology management skills are still limited; digital infrastructure is not yet synchronized, especially in rural areas; the readiness level for digital transformation of many enterprises is still low. The rate of access to support policies is not high, while the requirements of integration and competition require a faster transformation speed.
Faced with the above reality, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Nguyen Minh Luan suggested that departments, branches and units, depending on their functions, need to support businesses more in digital transformation. Conversely, businesses also need to learn, approach, use and apply digital transformation in their businesses. "Digital transformation is an inevitable trend, not only for businesses but also for the government. Without determination, it will be difficult to successfully implement digital transformation," Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized.
