Fostering and spreading Vietnam - Cuba solidarity through music

On August 20, in Hanoi, to strengthen the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations organized a music composition campaign with the theme Vietnam - Cuba: Forever resounding song of solidarity and friendship .

This campaign is part of the 65-year Vietnam-Cuba friendship program, lasting 65 days (from August 13 to October 16), aiming to mobilize resources and foster the special relationship between the two countries.

The launching ceremony of the music composition contest took place solemnly with the participation of many high-ranking representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society , the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, along with the special presence of the Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor of Musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, emphasized: "The music composition campaign named Vietnam - Cuba: Forever resounding songs of solidarity and friendship is a humanitarian cultural activity.

The goal of the Organizing Committee is to mobilize musicians, artists and music lovers nationwide to compose songs expressing the loyalty, solidarity, and noble international spirit between the Vietnamese and Cuban people.

Mr. Do Hong Quan affirmed that this is a demonstration of the responsibility of artists in fostering and spreading international solidarity, especially with the Cuban people. The songs are encouraged to be composed in a variety of genres, in line with the current music flow in Vietnam.

The creative competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living in Vietnam, regardless of age or profession.

The time to receive works starts from the launch date of August 20 to October 10. The Organizing Committee will conduct the award judging from October 10 to October 14.

The campaign was carried out under the direction of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, Literature and Arts Times, in coordination with the Vietnam Musicians Association and related units.

This music composition campaign is not only a cultural activity but also has profound meaning, demonstrating the responsibility of artists and musicians in working with the people of the whole country to foster international solidarity, especially with Cuba - a country that once "sacrificed its blood for Vietnam" during difficult years.

The artworks are expected to praise the fighting spirit, affirm the solidarity of today's generation with the people and the Communist Party of Cuba, contributing to building a spiritual value, a cultural world to forever accompany the Cuban people.
