Thousands of protesters gathered in Washington, DC, and other cities across the United States, with about 1,200 demonstrations planned, marking the largest day of protests against President Donald Trump and adviser Elon Musk since they began their efforts to reform government.

In Washington, more than 20,000 people gathered on the National Mall under overcast skies and light rain, with about 150 activist groups participating.
Protesters expressed concerns about a range of Trump administration policies, including immigration, trade tariffs and education. In particular, they protested the more than 200,000 federal job cuts implemented by the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), affecting agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Social Security Administration.
"I want my money. I want my rights!" Linda Falcao, who will soon turn 65, said at a rally near Social Security Administration headquarters.
On the same day, hundreds of Americans living in Europe also took to the streets in major cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris and London to protest.
The protests, led by Democrats Abroad, focused on criticizing President Trump's "overhaul" domestic and foreign policies, as well as Musk's role in government.
Signs such as “Hands off our personal data” and harsh words directed at both Trump and Musk reflected deep resentment among Americans abroad. In London, protesters also expressed concerns about US foreign policy toward Canada, Greenland and Ukraine.
