*Pig price in the Northern region

Live pigs in the Northern market recorded stable prices compared to the same time yesterday morning.

Currently, the highest price in the region is 69,000 VND, continuing to be recorded in Hung Yen province.

Meanwhile, the region of 5 provinces including Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang implemented the price of live pigs at 67,000 VND/kg - the lowest in the region.

Traders in the remaining localities purchased live pigs at a stable price of 68,000 VND/kg.

Today's live pig price in the North is around 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

*Pig price in the Central Highlands region

The pig market in the Central Highlands is almost flat.

Specifically, traders in most provinces and cities traded live pigs at an average price of VND64,000/kg.

Only Quang Binh province adjusted the price of live pigs up slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, raising it to 64,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 63,000 - 67,000 VND/kg.

*Pig price in the Southern region

In the southern region, pig prices are relatively stable.

Except for Bac Lieu province, which slightly lowered the price of live pigs by VND 1,000/kg, bringing the price of live pigs to VND 65,000/kg, the remaining localities traded live pigs unchanged at an average of VND 66,000/kg.

Currently, the purchase price in the South fluctuates between 65,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

* During 2 days (June 25 and 26), the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine coordinated with the Agricultural Service Center of Bac Son district, Lang Son province to vaccinate 1,860 pigs of people in 3 communes (Nhat Hoa, Nhat Tien, Vu Lang) against African swine fever.

According to the leader of the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, to continue implementing the AVAC ASFLIVE vaccine surveillance for African swine fever in Bac Son district, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has sent an official dispatch to AVAC Vietnam Joint Stock Company requesting the company to support African swine fever vaccine to continue large-scale experimental vaccination in Bac Son district.

Immediately after receiving 2,000 doses of vaccine from AVAC Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine has developed a plan to vaccinate pigs from 4 weeks of age and older with 1 dose. After 3 weeks of vaccination, technical staff of the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine will organize sample collection for monitoring and post-vaccination evaluation.

It is known that this African swine fever vaccination campaign is only carried out on a large scale in 3 communes of Bac Son district; pig farmers are exempted from vaccine and injection costs, according to Lang Son newspaper .
