Bank transaction office director arrested for defrauding 14 billion VND

On January 2, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Province Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue a temporary detention order against Ha Hai Dang for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Previously, in a short time, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Province Police received many complaints from citizens accusing Ha Hai Dang (born in 1989, residing in Cam Le District, Da Nang City, Director of a Bank Transaction Office in the province) of fraud and property appropriation.

The investigation results determined that from 2019 to 2022, in addition to his main job as Director of a Transaction Office of a bank in Quang Nam province, Ha Hai Dang also did real estate business. Therefore, Ha Hai Dang borrowed money from many victims to pay off his debts.

Ha Hai Dang provided false information to borrow money to complete bank loan procedures for customers at the bank. But in reality, he invested the money in real estate to make a profit and pay off personal debts, leading to an inability to repay the debt. The total amount of money Ha Hai Dang appropriated from the victims was 14 billion VND.

The case is being further investigated and handled by the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Provincial Police according to regulations.
