Arrested 2 suspects for stealing safe from the house of Deputy Secretary of Rach Goc Town

Regarding the theft of a safe at the house of the Deputy Secretary of Rach Goc Town, Ngoc Hien District (Ca Mau), on May 9, according to a source from Thanh Nien reporter, the Criminal Police Department of Ca Mau Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained 2 suspects to investigate the act of property theft.

The two defendants Nguyen Chi Thien (38 years old) and Danh Nho (33 years old, both residing in Nam Can Town, Nam Can District, Ca Mau) were temporarily arrested for 4 months.

"After receiving the file from Ngoc Hien District Police, the Criminal Police Department initiated prosecution of the accused according to its authority, because the total value of the stolen property was over 600 million VND," the above source added.

As Thanh Nien reported, on the morning of April 22, Mr. TMK, Deputy Secretary of Rach Goc Town, went to work. Afterwards, his wife, Ms. HDP, locked the house and went to her sister-in-law's house. At around 5 p.m. the same day, Ms. P. returned home and discovered that the back door and the bedroom door had been broken into.

During the inspection, Ms. P. discovered that the safe in the bedroom contained many missing assets. Reporting to the police, Ms. P. said that the assets in the safe included money, gold... with a total value of more than 600 million VND.

During the investigation, examining the scene and extracting camera footage, the police identified Nguyen Chi Thien and Danh Nho as suspects and focused their investigation on them. Immediately after, Thien and Danh Nho were summoned for clarification.

At the police station, Thien and Danh Nho admitted to breaking into Mr. K's house to steal a safe, then wrapped it in a hammock and transported it to an empty lot at Nam Can airport to break it in and steal the property. They both used the stolen cash to buy phones, cars, and watches, and divided the gold and sent it to relatives for safekeeping.

In addition, the motorbike that Nguyen Chi Thien and Danh Nho used to steal was stolen by Thien from a resident in Tam Giang commune, Nam Can district.
