Digital national tourism is the foundation for a country to operate, especially in the digital age when carrying out comprehensive national digital transformation. Digital government, digital economy, digital society, and digital citizens can only be deployed and operated on the digital national tourism platform.

Vietnam has built fundamental national databases (NDBs), such as the NDB on population; the NDB on cadres, civil servants, and public employees in state agencies... and many specialized databases. The Government has also issued Decree 47/2024/ND-CP, dated May 9, 2024, on the list of NDBs; the construction, updating, maintenance, exploitation and use of NDBs.

The National Data Center, built and operated by the Ministry of Public Security, was launched on February 25 and will officially operate from August 19, 2025. This is the place to store, process and provide national data for digital government, digital society and digital economy; as well as provide technological infrastructure for socio-political organizations, national database systems and agencies in need of use. The National Data Association has also been established with the task of connecting management agencies, businesses, organizations and individuals operating in the data field. This shows that the Vietnamese Government attaches great importance to the national data platform in the digital age, including the protection and exploitation of national data resources.

Therefore, advanced and regularly updated information security and safety solutions are needed, because national database sources are always exposed to global hackers at the highest levels. Because data must be provided to outputs in need, the uncertainty of data is even higher. National database protection must be carried out and ensured throughout from the National Database Center to the data users. This means that facilities that need to access and use national databases must also have strict information security and safety solutions.

National databases must be "clean" and "alive". "Clean" data is data that is accurate and guaranteed to be intact from the collection stage to processing, storage and exploitation. "Alive" data is data that is regularly updated and can be exploited. The National Database Platform is a shared and centralized data source. Protecting the National Database is also a national task.
