Previously, on August 2, Mr. LHT (56 years old, residing in Dai Dong commune, Nghe An) went to Thanh Chuong General Hospital for a medical examination because he felt tired and had mild chest pain. While waiting for paraclinical tests, Mr. T suddenly had severe chest pain, collapsed on the floor, turned purple, and lost consciousness.

Upon discovering the incident, the hospital's doctors and medical staff immediately performed emergency treatment on the patient. Recognizing this as a critical situation, with signs of cardiac arrest, and no family members accompanying the patient, the medical staff performed CPR on the patient and took him to the Emergency - Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department.

According to Dr. Linh, patient T. was diagnosed with cardiorespiratory arrest due to acute myocardial infarction. The hospital-wide red alert was activated, and on-duty teams from various departments were mobilized to coordinate support.

Doctors tried to perform first aid, performed chest compressions, intubated, used vasopressors and antiarrhythmic drugs, and performed electric shock to defibrillate the ventricles. After 45 minutes, the patient's heart started beating again and a pulse was detected.

Thanh Chuong General Hospital then contacted Nghe An General Hospital to continue treatment and transfer the patient to a higher level. At Nghe An General Hospital, the patient underwent emergency coronary artery stenting and continued resuscitation.

After 2 days of vascular intervention and resuscitation, Mr. T. was taken off the ventilator, alert, talking, eating and doing personal activities on his own.

Dr. Linh also said that Mr. T.'s survival after prolonged cardiac arrest due to myocardial infarction is rare. The doctor advised people at risk of heart disease not to be subjective and to proactively go for regular check-ups to help detect the disease early for timely treatment.
