Southeast Asian newspaper says heartwarming words about Vietnamese fans and Lach Tray stadium

The ASEAN Football website, which specializes in Southeast Asian football, almost exclaimed: “12,680 hearts beat as one at Lach Tray Stadium! The stands at this stadium were dyed red by the 12,680 passionate fans mentioned above.”

“They energized the Vietnam women's football team in their match against the Indonesian women's football team,” ASEAN Football continued.

12,680 people, that is the number of spectators recorded in the match between the Vietnamese women's football team and the Indonesian team on August 9, at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).

It is important to note that women's football is a sport that is quite selective in terms of its audience. It is not common for a women's football match to attract more than ten thousand viewers.

Notably, this was only a group stage match of the regional tournament, and was not a crucial match for the home team, due to the huge difference in skill level between the Vietnamese women's team and Indonesia. However, the audience still came to the stadium in large numbers.

That reflects how wonderful Hai Phong audiences in particular and Vietnamese audiences in general are. They are always a great source of motivation for Vietnamese girls playing football. That is also the detail that makes Southeast Asian media amazed.

ASEAN Football commented further: “The congratulations and flags waved by the fans created a very exciting atmosphere. It was an unforgettable atmosphere.”

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Suara newspaper reported: “The match on Saturday (August 9) ended with a 7-0 victory for the home team Vietnam over the Indonesian women’s team. This was the match at Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong.”

“The Indonesian women’s team always faced a lot of pressure, while the host team Vietnam played aggressively. They dominated from start to finish and forced Indonesia to accept a heavy defeat,” was still written in the newspaper of the archipelago country.
