On the morning of May 26, the Launching Ceremony of the 2024 Central Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign was organized by the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Hai Phong City and directly connected with the connecting points in Tuyen Quang, Dak Lak and the Central Business Bloc Union organized in Hau Giang.

Attending the program in Hai Phong were comrade Bui Quang Huy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union; comrade Lai Xuan Lam - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Agencies; comrade Do Manh Hien - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Youth Union, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign; comrade Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Head of the Central Youth Union Inspection Committee.

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has special significance. 60 years ago (1964), the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union launched the "Three Readies" movement with the following contents: Ready to fight; ready to join the armed forces; ready to go anywhere, do anything the Fatherland needs. 25 years ago, the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam chose 2000 as the "Year of Vietnamese Youth" and accordingly, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign was officially formed.

Speaking at the Launch Ceremony, the Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union and Head of the Campaign Steering Committee requested that the Youth Union chapters at all levels implement this year's Summer Campaign in both quantity and quality, and that volunteer activities must be in-depth, have high knowledge content and great social support value:

“Each volunteer must truly immerse himself in the lives of the people and youth where the volunteer activities are organized, “eating together, living together, working together”. So that when the campaign ends, what remains in people’s minds is the image of the green-shirt volunteer soldiers “who come to be loved by the people, stay with the people, do for the people, and leave with the people.”

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign will focus its forces, bringing enthusiasm, intelligence, and youthful energy to 4 key areas to contribute to "changing the face" of remote, isolated, disadvantaged, border, and island areas, turning new rural areas into "Worth living places" and "Worth living villages". This year's campaign will focus on 4 key areas, including: Youth Village; Youth Island; 63 disadvantaged villages and hamlets selected by the provincial and municipal Youth Unions to support the completion of the criteria for building new rural villages in 2024 and areas with 14 ethnic minorities with a population of less than 10,000 people.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, activities in response to the Campaign will be immediately deployed nationwide. The total value of resources focused on the Launch Ceremony of the 2024 Central-level Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is 25 billion 528 million VND.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 55/CD-TTg dated June 1, 2024 of the Prime Minister on mobilizing local resources to ensure logistics and increase support for the construction of the 500kV line circuit 3 from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen). On the afternoon of June 1, the Central Youth Union and Vietnam Electricity Group held a working session on coordination and support for project implementation.

At the working session, on behalf of the Central Youth Union Secretariat, Comrade Bui Quang Huy - Alternate member of the Central Party Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union launched a 30-day and night peak emulation campaign to organize the Youth Union to join the Electricity industry in the determination to complete the national key project, the 500kV Line 3, on schedule. He emphasized that the 9 provinces and cities where the line passes through need to identify this as an honor and the most important task to implement in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

Immediately after the launch, the provincial and municipal Youth Unions established nearly 500 teams with nearly 6,000 volunteers to support 297 construction sites. In particular, the volunteer teams will focus on major tasks, including: (1) Propagating and mobilizing the Youth Union and people to clearly understand the meaning and importance of the 500kV line 3 project to create consensus in project implementation; (2) Coordinating and supporting people to relocate their houses and constructions as soon as possible; cutting down and clearing trees to ensure the safety of the power line when completed; participating in regulating and guarding to ensure traffic safety during the wire pulling process at the points of the route passing through national highways and traffic routes; (3) Participating in providing logistical support for construction according to the needs of the construction units.

Comrade Bui Quang Huy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union visited and presented gifts to encourage the team in Thanh Hoa. Here, he emphasized that these are hard tasks assigned to the youth by the Prime Minister. The youth need to "overcome the sun and rain", "work in 3 shifts and 4 shifts" to complete the assigned tasks.

Comrade Ngo Van Cuong - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Youth Union Inspection Committee visited, presented gifts and encouraged the team of young workers constructing the power line in Hoa Phong commune (My Hao town, Hung Yen).

On June 6, 2024, in the two districts of Quynh Phu and Hung Ha, Thai Binh province, youth volunteer teams organized to help people harvest the winter-spring rice crop, to ensure the progress of the construction of the 500KV line 3 passing through Thai Binh province. As a result, the whole province harvested over 20 hectares of rice fields...

Youth Union members of Nam Dan district, Nghe An province support the demolition of houses and relocation of people's belongings to serve the site clearance work where the 500kV line 3 circuit passes through.

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign continues to be implemented with 01 Program, 04 Campaigns focusing on organizing regular, on-site volunteer activities, volunteering by target group, online volunteering; volunteering according to multi-year projects to thoroughly solve problems in an area.

The participants are members, students, teachers, young lecturers studying and teaching at universities, academies, colleges and junior colleges across the country; union members and young people in the area organizing the 2024 high school graduation exam sites in localities; students and young teachers of high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers across the country; Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Executive Committees in other countries, Vietnamese Student Associations in other countries and international students living and studying abroad. Implementation time is from April to August 2024.

In the first 2 weeks of the Campaign, the Exam Support Program had 4,058 teams with more than 129,234 volunteers enthusiastically participating nationwide with many practical and meaningful activities.

In Hanoi: There are more than 4,000 volunteers participating in supporting the exam season at 201 10th grade entrance exam sites in Hanoi, each exam site has 15-20 volunteers outside the school gate. Volunteers participate in traffic control, instruct candidates to ensure a safe distance, guide candidates to find the exam room location; provide drinking water, guide and direct candidates to the exam room. In addition, many teams support candidates with psychological counseling, exam preparation counseling, especially for students in difficult circumstances; mobilize resources to support candidates and their families...

Tuyen Quang: In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 12,267 students who have completed the junior high school program registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam. Promoting the spirit of volunteerism of youth and students, more than 1,000 Tuyen Quang volunteers supported candidates before and during the exam.

In Ho Chi Minh City: From 5:00 a.m. on June 8 to June 9, 300 student volunteers participating in the 2024 Exam Support Program of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture were present at the exam site to be ready to support 6,000 candidates and their parents from all over the country who came to the school to take the aptitude test.

The participants are students and young lecturers from academies, universities and colleges; students and young teachers from vocational training institutions at intermediate level; Vietnamese students studying abroad in other countries; international students who want to volunteer in Vietnam. Implementation period is from June 1 to August 31, 2024.

As of June 9, 2024, there were a total of 27 4 Secondary Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Academies nationwide deploying with 3,208 teams and 200,467 volunteers participating.

The participants are students, staff, and young teachers at high schools, vocational education centers - continuing education centers, and vocational education institutions. Implementation period is from June 1 to August 31, 2024.

By the end of week 2, the "Red Flamboyant" Volunteer Campaign had been widely deployed nationwide with the participation of 3,258 teams and 214,778 volunteers at 1,882 high schools and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers nationwide .

Thua Thien - Hue: In recent days, the Hoa Phuong Do volunteer team of the Youth Unions of high schools in Thua Thien - Hue province has simultaneously launched to serve and support thousands of candidates preparing to take the entrance exam to grade 10. On June 1, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association, visited, presented gifts and encouraged the Hoa Phuong Do volunteer team of the Hue National High School for the Gifted. Visiting and encouraging the volunteers, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet kindly reminded the volunteers to take care of their health while participating in volunteer work. Da Nang: Red Flamboyant soldiers brave the sun to support candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam. In the face of hot weather during the exam days, the Red Flamboyant soldiers and teams actively and proactively carried out many activities such as: consulting and guiding candidates to find exam rooms and complete exam procedures; providing drinking water, gifts, and free storage for candidates; supporting school supplies; coordinating with local authorities and medical facilities to grasp the situation and develop proactive plans to handle unusual incidents related to weather, accidents, health, etc. of candidates; picking up and dropping off candidates in special circumstances for free; supporting functional forces in traffic flow at exam locations, etc.

Quang Tri: On June 1, 2023, the Youth Union of high schools and vocational education centers in the province organized the 2024 provincial-level "Red Flamboyant" volunteer campaign. At the program, the volunteer group donated 01 volleyball court to the youth of Huong Son commune; 01 project to repair and upgrade the toilet; 01 mural painting project to Huong Son Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities. Despite the difficult weather conditions, the cadres and members of the Youth Union of Quang Tri province's student block tried their best to complete the project and hand it over to Huong Son commune.

The Youth Union of the Bloc of Agencies and Enterprises of Binh Thuan province organized the launch of the Pink Holiday Campaign 2024. On the morning of June 1, 2024, the Campaign's launch ceremony was held by the units in Bac Binh District. At the program, the Organizing Committee presented a charity house worth 50 million VND to a family in difficult circumstances in Phan Dien commune; implemented the "Security Light" project worth 13 million VND for Phan commune; implemented the "Painting murals" project for Son Lam Primary and Secondary School; presented 15 gifts to families in difficult circumstances, ethnic minorities, and religious dignitaries in Phan Son commune; presented 100 yellow trumpet trees to Phan Son commune - Bac Binh district; presented the project "For beloved juniors" to Chi Cong 4 Primary School - Chi Cong commune - Tuy Phong district.; presented 01 project "Clean water for children" and donated 10 water tanks (500L) worth 12 million VND to Phong Phu commune - Tuy Phong district.

Khanh Hoa : On June 8, the City Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of Nha Trang City coordinated with the Youth Union of Workers and Civil Servants - Armed Forces of Nha Trang City and Khanh Vinh District Youth Union to launch the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, launching the Pink Vacation Campaign and Green March in Khanh Hiep Commune (Khanh Vinh District). At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded scholarships to disadvantaged students in the commune; organized a "Zero-VND Bus" with gifts of notebooks, milk, toys, candy, etc. for children; and promoted oral hygiene and food safety. Soc Trang: On the morning of June 9, 2024, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee chose the Soc Trang City Youth Union as the venue for the launching ceremony of the "Green March" volunteer campaign in 2024. At the ceremony, 10 scholarships were awarded to children who have overcome difficulties to study well; 200kg of rice were symbolically awarded to people in difficult circumstances; 150 trees were donated to carry out the youth project of Planting trees on Canal 30/4, Ward 6, Soc Trang City... After the ceremony, the "Green March" volunteer teams of 03 units: Soc Trang City; Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police Youth Union simultaneously launched the project of planting 150 trees on Canal 30/4; established a delegation to visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the city; organized propaganda activities among union members and youth participating in maintaining security and order in Ward 3.

On International Children's Day, June 1, in response to the Peak Day of volunteer soldiers supporting children in difficult circumstances, the Provincial Police Youth Union and the Provincial Border Guard across all localities organized many activities to give gifts and support disabled students and students in difficult circumstances to excel in their studies.

On June 1, at the Provincial Youth Cultural Palace, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers in coordination with the Provincial People's Committee organized the Summer Opening program, responding to the Month of Action for Children and the Peak Day of "Volunteers supporting children in difficult circumstances" in 2024.

Opening summer activities and launching the Month of Action for Children 2024 is an important event to create conditions for young people and children to have a healthy and useful playground, helping them have a joyful and meaningful summer, so that summer activities are truly a festival of childhood, helping children to play and study in a healthy environment. At the same time, it contributes to promoting propaganda, education, raising awareness and sense of responsibility of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations, parents, caregivers, and children; joining hands to create a safe, useful and healthy living environment for children.

During this summer, the Central Youth Union, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers and units under the Central Youth Union presented 14,460 gifts, scholarships, 5,250 cartons of milk, 131 toilets; 15 beautiful schools for children, 11 happy houses, boarding houses for children, 13 computer rooms, playgrounds for children; sponsored 774 orphaned children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with a total value of 32 billion VND .

In addition, provinces and cities across the country will spend a total of more than 136 billion VND to take care of children during the summer of 2024.

The peak day of Volunteers supporting disadvantaged children in Lam Dong province in 2024 was organized with many diverse activities such as: Propagating skills to prevent abuse, injuries, drowning, safety skills in cyberspace; Golden Bell Competition to learn about the Law on Children, skills to prevent injuries, drowning, child abuse; Painting Competition,... Also within the framework of the program, a playground was awarded to students at Kim Dong Primary School, Cat Tien district, along with scholarships for students in difficult circumstances in the district.

Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union has implemented many activities to support and care for children in the province, including: presenting 141 "Lighting up dreams" scholarships worth more than 134 million VND; the Provincial Youth Union Council symbolically presented the "White shirt of love - Going to school with you" task worth 5 million VND; presented 25 scholarships worth 12.5 million VND to children orphaned by COVID-19; coordinated with FPT Polytechnic College to present 10 maps of Vietnam and 100 gifts to children responding to the campaign "Proud of a strip of land and river".

Lai Chau donated 600 red scarves, 150 books, comics and scholarships to students in difficult circumstances; organized fun activities and propaganda on drowning prevention, injury accidents, child abuse and organized a "Love Meal" for 60 children of Noong Quai village (Ta Gia commune, Than Uyen district).

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is a campaign of special significance, marking the 25-year historical journey of volunteer summers of young people across the country. In the first 2 weeks of implementation, the Campaign has initially recorded many outstanding impressions. That is the eagerness of volunteers who woke up early in the morning to go to schools to support and encourage candidates to do well in the 10th grade entrance exam; the image of hundreds of union members and young people responding to environmental protection activities; the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain" of young workers determined to complete the 500 kV power line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi, on schedule for 30 days and nights... In the traditional green shirt, young people across the country have shown their pioneering and proactive spirit, not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships, dedicating themselves to community life. Affirming the volunteer spirit of young people - a symbol of Vietnamese youth.
