Vietnamese people in Toyama enjoy Spring in their homeland 2024
On February 11, the Vietnamese Association in Toyama (Japan) coordinated with the Vietnamese Friendship Association in Toyama to organize the Spring Homeland 2024 program, bringing a warm atmosphere to Vietnamese people in Japan on the occasion of Lunar New Year.
Hometown Spring 2024 features booths from units inside and outside Toyama province, a space for taking photos of the New Year in the countryside, a Japanese speech contest, the final round and performance of the Toyama art competition.
According to the organizers, the program is sponsored by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Toyama Provincial Committee, and is an opportunity to share the cultural beauty of Vietnam with local people in particular and the international community in general.

At the event, Counselor Nguyen Sau at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent his condolences to the Vietnamese community in Toyama after the earthquake on January 1 and appreciated the spirit of mutual love of the Vietnamese community in Toyama when they provided timely support to the Vietnamese community in Ishikawa, which was heavily affected by the earthquake.
He expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Toyama will increasingly unite and help each other, strive to study and contribute to the development of the locality as well as the relationship between the two countries.
According to Toyama Governor Nitta Hachirou, the program has contributed to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
"With the number of Vietnamese people in Toyama at 4,800, this is the largest foreign community in Toyama, we will try to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Japan," he said.
