1 year achieved 2 new rural goals

In recent years, the work of building new rural areas has been paid attention to and focused by the Party Committee and People's Committee of Mai Dinh commune. Implementing the direction of the Central Government, Hanoi City, Soc Son District Party Committee - People's Committee, and the Steering Committee of the new rural area building program of Mai Dinh commune has issued over 30 documents to organize the implementation of the National Target Program on building new rural areas.

Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work, most cadres, party members and people in Mai Dinh commune are aware of the role, meaning and purpose of the Program; and promote their own responsibility in carrying out the task of building new rural areas.

Statistics from 2021 to the end of December 2023 show that the total resources mobilized by Mai Dinh commune to carry out the task of building new rural areas are over 803 billion VND. In the context of economic difficulties, the impact of natural disasters and epidemics, businesses, cooperatives and people from all walks of life still support about 5 billion VND to build new rural areas.

Chairwoman of Mai Dinh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen said that with the participation of the entire political system, consensus and support of all classes of people, on February 23, 2024, Mai Dinh Commune was recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards according to Decision No. 1027/QD-UBND of Hanoi People's Committee.

After reaching the advanced new rural area goal, the Steering Committee for new rural area construction in Mai Dinh commune continued to mobilize resources to complete and improve the criteria, especially the two model registration criteria (culture and health). On August 12, 2024, Mai Dinh commune was recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as meeting the model new rural area standards in Decision No. 4151/QD-UBND.

Up to now, the life of Mai Dinh commune people has been constantly improved. The average income per capita in the most recent assessment period reached nearly 76 million VND/year, an increase of 1.58 times compared to 2014. The quality of health care and education is focused on, cultural life has made much progress; social security is guaranteed...

Striving for the smart new rural destination

Speaking at the ceremony to announce and receive Mai Dinh commune as meeting the advanced and model new rural standards, Chairman of Soc Son District People's Committee Pham Van Minh emphasized that over the past 10 years, the district has made great strides in building new rural areas. Starting from having no new rural communes, by 2020, Soc Son was recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting new rural standards.

As of September 2024, the district has 11 communes reaching the advanced new rural standard, 9 communes reaching the model new rural standard. The district strives to reach the new rural target one year ahead of schedule by the end of 2024 according to the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress of Soc Son district for the 2020-2025 term.

Congratulating the results achieved by the Party Committee, government and people of Mai Dinh commune, Chairman of Soc Son District People's Committee Pham Van Minh continued to affirm that building a new countryside is a journey with a starting point and no ending point. Therefore, local Party committees and authorities need to continue to mobilize all resources to improve the remaining model criteria.

In addition, the Party Committee and the government of Mai Dinh commune need to continue to promote and do a good job of information and propaganda work so that people can support, actively join hands and contribute to maintaining and promoting the achievements that have been achieved; strive to bring Mai Dinh commune to the finish line of comprehensive new-style rural areas, towards smart new-style rural areas.

At the ceremony on the morning of October 4, Deputy Chief of Office of the Hanoi New Rural Development Program Coordination Office Ngo Van Ngon presented the Certificate of Merit of the Hanoi People's Committee to the Mai Dinh Commune People's Committee. The Mai Dinh Commune People's Committee also presented certificates of merit to 11 groups and 33 individuals who have made many contributions to the local new rural construction work.
