On January 8, Dr. Vo Thanh Nam Binh, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh General Hospital, said that patient Đ.NAK (13 years old, in Nhon Hoi commune, Quy Nhon city, a 7th grade student beaten by a man on the evening of January 4) is currently in the hospital's Pediatrics Department for monitoring and treatment.

Doctor Binh said that after being admitted to the hospital, K. was examined and had an MRI scan of his head. The MRI scan results showed that K.'s head was not injured, but his body ached due to a severe concussion.

Ms. Van (K.'s aunt) is taking care of her grandchild at the hospital and shared: "K. has a slight scratch on his head, his head still hurts and he wakes up when he closes his eyes to sleep. Yesterday, he vomited after eating, so the family is very worried."

According to Ms. Van, K.'s biological mother is working in Japan. When she heard the news, she was very upset and heartbroken.

"For the past few days, my mother has been crying all the time, refusing to eat or go to work. After assaulting K., Mr. V. came to the house to apologize, but the family was upset so they reported the incident to the authorities," Ms. Van added.

On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thoi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Hoi Commune (Quy Nhon City), said that the commune police had transferred the case file of Mr. N.D.V. (42 years old) assaulting a 13-year-old boy to the Investigation Police Agency of Quy Nhon City Police.

According to Mr. Thoi, through working with local authorities, Mr. V. expressed remorse for causing the incident.

Lawyer Vo Hong Nam, Binh Dinh Province Bar Association, said that comparing the provisions of Article 134 of the Penal Code, in the case in the above video, the man had beaten and injured the child.

If the child is under 16 years old and the injury rate is over 1%, the man may be prosecuted for Intentional Infliction of Injury under Article 134 of the Penal Code.

As Dan Tri reported, at 8:34 p.m. on January 4, a boy was sitting and playing with a group of friends at a local snack shop. Suddenly, a man on a motorbike, without a helmet, rushed forward and hit the boy repeatedly on the head, leaving the victim unable to react.

Not stopping there, this person also carried the child out into the street, continued to punch and kick him even though the child begged and ran away.

The image was then shared on social networks, causing public outrage.
