On May 5, the National Children's Hospital informed about the health status of patient MTA, the victim of a serious traffic accident, who was transferred from Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital for treatment.

According to a representative of the National Children's Hospital, on the evening of May 3, the child patient was admitted to the Emergency - Anti-Poison Department in critical condition after being run over by a homemade tricycle. Immediately upon admission, the on-duty team examined, performed tests, and took CT scans to assess the injury.

The results showed that the child had a torn left diaphragm causing hernia of the stomach and intestines into the chest, grade 3 kidney injury, small intestine contusion and retroperitoneal hematoma. The child was scheduled for emergency surgery that night. The surgery reconstructed the diaphragm, preserved the kidney, removed the damaged intestine and reconnected the intestines. The child was then transferred to the Department of Intensive Care Surgery for further resuscitation.
