On September 13, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee organized a program for city leaders to meet and dialogue with officials and members of the city's farmers' association in 2023.

The event was chaired by comrades: Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai requested the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the city's departments and branches to promptly implement the issues discussed and agreed upon during the dialogue to promptly and effectively resolve the legitimate recommendations of farmers' union members.

Regarding proposals and recommendations related to mechanisms and policies such as planning, construction, and policies to support urban agricultural development, the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee suggested that the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee direct departments and branches to advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for approval of policies and guidelines to support agricultural development.

In which, determining the planning of agricultural production areas, high-tech agricultural production areas in Ho Chi Minh City. Policies to encourage the restructuring of urban agriculture, regulations on content and policies to support the linkage of production and consumption of agricultural products in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the same time, promptly approve programs and projects to develop rural tourism in new rural construction; disburse loan interest support according to the policy to encourage the restructuring of urban agriculture in the city...

Currently, many places are planned as agricultural land, on paper it is agricultural land but people cannot cultivate agriculture. While with that status, people can create value many times higher than agricultural production.

Therefore, the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee proposed applying Resolution 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City, to deploy guidelines for piloting the construction of works serving agricultural production on agricultural land.

He also requested the Party Delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association to lead the implementation of programs and projects chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association, such as the project "organizing farmers to study, exchange production experiences and promote goods and consume agricultural products abroad in the period of 2023-2025".

At the same time, pay attention to building Ho Chi Minh cultural space, honoring national cultural values... creating a wide spread in the system, a breakthrough highlight in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

For Party committees at all levels, the Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee suggested increasing direct dialogue with cadres and farmer members; at the same time, having specific solutions to improve the management and operation of the government to create consensus in society. Along with that, effectively carry out the work of social supervision and criticism; participate in the implementation of socio-economic development programs of the locality and Ho Chi Minh City.

Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai also shared the hardships of farmers and hoped that there would be many solutions so that urban farmers could live and get rich on their own land, from agricultural production to participating in the agricultural production chain.
