Regarding the information about the ridiculous advertisement "eating 1 vegetable candy equals an entire plate of vegetables" by Chi Em Rot Group, the National Competition Commission has urgently investigated and considered handling the case.
Recently, on the media and social networks, there has been a lot of information related to the Kera vegetable candy product - a product of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company (CER).
The Kera vegetable candy product advertised by Quang Linh Vlogs and Hang "Du Muc" has high fiber value, "1 candy is equal to a whole plate of vegetables". This has caused public outrage due to inaccuracy.
Regarding the above incident, the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has urgently intervened and conducted inspection and verification activities.
Accordingly, the National Competition Commission has sent a document requesting Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company to provide product declaration documents and documents related to the origin, source, quality, advertising activities, and information communication about Kera vegetable candy products.
Along with that, the Committee contacted the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Health of Dak Lak province to collect and synthesize information to serve the assessment of the incident.
The National Competition Commission said it has been reviewing and evaluating the case's records and information according to legal regulations on consumer rights protection and relevant laws.
On the basis of synthesizing, verifying and clarifying information, in case of detecting any violations of the law, the National Competition Commission will coordinate with functional units to consider and strictly handle them according to current regulations.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that consumers should be cautious with advertising information on social networks, especially products related to health.
In addition, you should carefully research product information, origin and quality certifications before deciding to buy. When discovering advertising or providing false information, consumers should immediately report to the authorities for timely handling.
For business organizations and individuals, providing inaccurate or incomplete information not only causes damage to consumers and affects the reputation of business organizations and individuals, but can also be considered and handled for violations according to the provisions of the law on consumer protection and related laws.
When participating in providing information about products, goods and services to consumers, influencers need to check the information and research to fully implement the responsibilities of influencers according to the provisions of the law on protecting consumer rights, the National Competition Commission emphasized.
Previously, at a press conference on the afternoon of March 14, a representative of Chi Em Rot Group apologized "for the unfortunate mistakes that led to false information affecting everyone" and said that "these problems come from youth, lack of experience, and lack of experience".
At the meeting, Quang Linh Vlogs affirmed that the product cannot replace vegetables but is only a nutritional supplement. After this incident, Quang Linh Vlogs said that he will stop selling livestream for a long time to return to Africa.
Meanwhile, Hang “Nomad” cried, admitting her mistakes in the process of speaking and introducing products such as Kera candy or bird’s nest. Ms. Hang expressed that she had many shortcomings, “being too young, success came too quickly, so it could lead to going astray”.
Before the controversy over the exaggerated advertising of the product’s benefits, more than 100,000 products had been sold. In case customers who have purchased Kera want to return or refund the product, the company is willing to do so, said the CEO of CER.
