The final Grand Slam tournament of the year, the 2025 US Open promises to bring top-notch and dramatic matches when gathering the world's top tennis players.
Record Bonus
The 2025 US Open has set a historic milestone in prize money in Grand Slam tournaments with a total value of up to 90 million USD (up 20% compared to 2024).
Accordingly, the champions in the men's and women's singles will receive a huge prize of 5 million USD each. The runner-up will also take home 2.5 million USD.
This attractive prize level shows the strong investment of the organizing committee in this year's tournament, even the players who stop in the first round will receive 110,000 USD.
Djokovic and Alcaraz fight early
The draw has put the top two players, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, in the same bracket, meaning they could face each other in the semi-finals if they both play well.
Djokovic will begin his journey with a match against Vietnamese-American player Learner Tien in the first round. Djokovic's draw is considered quite difficult with potential opponents such as Alex Michelsen, Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz in the next rounds.

Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, also does not have an easy path as he may have to face "serving machine" Reilly Opelka in the first round and Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals.
Jannik Sinner, the defending champion and top seed, is considered to have the better draw. He will begin his title defence against Vit Kopriva. However, Sinner could face a challenge in the second round when he faces Alexei Popyrin, who surprised Djokovic in the third round last year.
Round one also witnessed many other promising confrontations such as Holger Rune meeting Botic Van de Zandschulp, or the competition between Alexander Bublik and Marin Cilic.
Venus Williams in trouble
In the women's singles, top seed Aryna Sabalenka will begin her journey against Rebeka Masarova. She will be in the same quarter-final draw as Jasmine Paolini and the semi-final draw as Jessica Pegula.
Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek could potentially face a rematch against the opponent she defeated in the Wimbledon final, Amanda Anisimova, if they both reach the quarter-finals.
Host nation USA hopes Coco Gauff and Madison Keys could set up a civil war in the quarter-finals.
Notably, tennis player Venus Williams will mark her return at the 2025 US Open with a first-round match against 11th seed Karolina Muchova. This is expected to be a tough match for the 45-year-old American legend.
