On August 5 and 6, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) in collaboration with INTESOL Vietnam and international partners organized the TESOL 2025 International Scientific Conference with the theme: "Teaching English with INTESOL in the era of artificial intelligence (AI)" . The event is an international forum gathering domestic and foreign experts, lecturers, and researchers from the US, UK, Australia, Philippines, Japan, Korea, El Salvador, and Canada.

The TESOL 2025 conference focuses on discussing new trends in AI-based English teaching with prominent topics such as: AI applications in TESOL classrooms; Designing learning content using technology; Chatbot applications, virtual assistants and automated teaching; Smart feedback and assessment; Ethics and humanity in using educational technology.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, believes that when AI enters the English classroom, the role of teachers will not disappear but will be further enhanced. AI will support the optimization of the teaching and learning process, helping foreign language learners shorten the gap in accessing English. However, the teacher is the core factor, ensuring humanity, understanding and the ability to guide learners in their language development journey.
In addition, the development of AI technologies in assessment, feedback and learning content design opens a new era for smarter, more personalized and effective English education. Learners will be supported at the right time, at the right needs, in accordance with their individual abilities, thereby improving the quality of learning.
The TESOL 2025 conference is not only a scientific event but also a bridge connecting the English teaching community at home and abroad. This is a playground for young lecturers, researchers and businesses to share and discuss advanced foreign language education models, suitable for the context of globalization and strong digital transformation.
