(NLDO) - Roger Federer, the legendary Swiss tennis player, has officially become the seventh athlete in history to own assets of over 1 billion USD.

According to Forbes, Federer's fortune comes mostly from advertising, investments, and especially shares in the shoe and sportswear brand On, which currently has a market value of nearly 15 billion USD.

During his 24-year career, Federer has won 20 Grand Slams and 103 ATP titles, earning nearly $131 million in prize money. However, his huge income off the court is about $1 billion. This makes him a sports "billionaire".

With his elegant and luxurious style, Federer has become a golden face in the eyes of global brands such as Rolex, Mercedes-Benz, Lindt, Credit Suisse. In 2018, he attracted attention when he left Nike to sign a 10-year contract worth 300 million USD with Uniqlo.
