This morning, March 7, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien chaired a meeting with Vinh Linh district on some contents of the Vinh Linh district construction planning project to 2040, with a vision to 2050.

The objective of the planning of Vinh Linh district construction area to 2040, with orientation to 2050, is to specify the orientations for socio-economic development of Quang Tri province and Vinh Linh district; to specify the planning for the development of the urban system of Quang Tri province and the goal of building new rural districts (NTM) in the province. To build Vinh Linh district to meet the standards of a NTM district before 2025, becoming a key district for the development of trade - services and tourism of the province.

Planning the construction and development of areas in Vinh Linh district in accordance with production planning, socio-economic development, exploitation and rational use of natural resources; ensuring social security, national defense and security; protecting the ecological environment and landscape, aiming at the goal of sustainable development. At the same time, it serves as a basis for implementing urban and rural planning, construction planning...

The planning orientation is divided into 3 spatial development zones including: plain and midland; mountainous and coastal areas. By 2040, the orientation is to develop and expand Ho Xa urban area into a type IV urban area; Ben Quan urban area and Cua Tung urban area into type V urban areas. Rural areas will develop concentrated residential areas on the basis of expanding existing residential areas, minimizing the use of cultivated land, protecting the environment sustainably; restoring and developing traditional craft villages combined with tourism services.

Planning for the development of mixed-use areas including: industry, trade services, logistics, residential areas in Ben Quan town, Northwest of Vinh Son commune, intersection of Van Ninh - Cam Lo highway with provincial road 573B. Planning for the development of eco-tourism service areas, sports and other functions around Bao Dai lake, La Nga lake, Bau Thuy U...

After listening to the opinions of departments and branches, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of Vinh Linh district and related units in coordinating the implementation of the Regional Planning Project. The orientations outlined are basically consistent with the approved general planning of the province.

However, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that Vinh Linh district should focus on re-evaluating, researching, expanding, and developing areas around traffic intersections because these will be convenient areas connecting the east, west, south, and north, opening up opportunities for developing logistics services, transportation, sea routes, industrial development, and high technology.

At the same time, it is necessary to outline the general orientation on forming an eco-tourism route from Ben Tat suspension bridge to historical relics and landmarks in the area to supplement the district's regional construction planning project.
