Ninh Kieu District Youth Union planted trees and ornamental flowers at Tuong Lai School, contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful school.

According to Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Deputy Secretary of Ninh Kieu District Youth Union, from 2022 to now, the district Youth Union at all levels has promoted activities to participate in environmental protection and urban civilization construction. The models are increasingly diverse in association with the task of urban beautification, such as registering to build 150 "Safe - green - clean" roads and alleys, of which 37 roads and alleys have been upgraded to meet the criteria of "Civilized - safe - green - clean - beautiful" and hundreds of campaigns to collect waste and clean the environment. In Youth Month 2025 alone, the district Youth Union bases have carried out 29 projects to participate in urban civilization construction. 100% of ward Youth Unions organize environmental protection activities, with the following models: "Painting propaganda pictures on environmental protection messages", "Erasing illegal billboards", "Civilized - safe - green - clean - beautiful" roads and "Residential areas reducing plastic waste".

The Youth Union has implemented many models of environmental protection education for union members, youth and students. A typical example is Cai Khe Ward Youth Union with the model "Children's Environmental Protection Festival". In April 2025, the Ward Youth Union organized 2 festivals, attracting more than 2,000 children to participate, with typical activities such as "exchanging trash for gifts" (for each kilogram of waste materials, students received 1 gift voucher). The Ward Youth Union also mobilized more than 5,000 gifts, with a total value of more than 120 million VND. Mr. Lai Phuoc Truong Thanh, Secretary of Cai Khe Ward Youth Union, said: "This is the 6th time the Ward Youth Union has organized the festival, with the goal of educating green lifestyles, raising awareness of environmental protection, and building a green - clean - beautiful school landscape".

Since 2023, the District Youth Union has launched the model "Youth with green space", contributing to building green - clean - beautiful offices and schools. Accordingly, each Youth Union official and Youth Union member plants one tree; each unit registers to carry out one green space creation project/year. Up to now, Youth Union members have planted more than 500 trees at offices, schools and community activity locations. Or the model "Youth with 3 volunteers" (implemented from March 2024 to present), corresponding to 3 contents: for civilized urban areas, social order and safety, and social security care. Implementing the model, the district's youth organize many activities to participate in environmental protection such as "Orange Journey" (coordinating with FPT University Can Tho to clean up the environment on roads and canals); "Peak day of volunteer soldiers building bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe urban areas" in the emulation periods of Youth Month and Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

The district's youth are also active and creative in implementing projects, participating in environmental protection work associated with propaganda on cyberspace, aiming to create a change in people's awareness of environmental protection and implementing a civilized urban lifestyle. Mr. Vo Thanh Hiep, Secretary of Thoi Binh Ward Youth Union, said: "At the end of March 2025, the ward Youth Union launched a project to paint propaganda paintings on environmental protection along Rach Ngong 1 Bridge and the "Civilized - Safe - Green - Clean" route on Huynh Thuc Khang Street. To increase the effectiveness of propaganda, the Youth Union made short videos posted on TikTok and other social networks, attracting hundreds of views and receiving positive feedback from the people"...

The models and tasks of Ninh Kieu district youth have been contributing to raising awareness of the Youth Union and people in implementing civilized urban lifestyle; affirming the role of youth in participating with local authorities in building a cultural and civilized lifestyle.
