Tien Giang Provincial Employment Service Center: Connecting jobs, contributing to stabilizing social security

In the context of the socio-economic situation of the whole country in general and Tien Giang province in particular continuing to recover and develop after the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for labor recruitment of enterprises in the area is increasing. The number of workers looking for jobs, changing careers, and enjoying unemployment insurance policies is also constantly increasing. In the face of this reality, the Tien Giang Provincial Employment Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) has actively implemented practical and effective solutions to perform well the assigned tasks, especially connecting and creating jobs for workers. In the first quarter of 2025, the Center has promoted labor market information, diversified forms of consulting and job referrals to better meet the needs of workers and businesses. During the quarter, the Center provided consultation to 2,588 workers (reaching 64.5% over the same period; reaching 12.9% of the annual plan); 581 workers came to register to find jobs (reaching 79.8% over the same period).

At the same time, jobs were introduced to 488 workers (reaching 67.7% compared to the same period; reaching 16.3% compared to the yearly plan). Since the beginning of the year, the Center has introduced stable jobs to 171 workers.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Center organized 6 job fairs (including 5 regular and periodic job fairs at the Center - Facility 2 and branches; 1 online job fair in coordination with the Ben Tre Provincial Employment Service Center).

The job fairs attracted the participation of 12 businesses with a total recruitment demand of 2,186 workers in many fields and industries such as: Garment, leather shoes, food processing, mechanics, construction...

As a result, 346 workers were consulted, 26 workers participated in interviews, 9 workers were recruited directly and received interview appointments at the enterprise, 11 workers were introduced to recruiting enterprises... In addition, the Center also actively advised workers to register and go abroad to work for a limited period of time.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Center has consulted 143 workers. As a result, 2 workers registered, both of whom were female, and from December 2024 to March 2025, 100 workers left the country and officially went to work abroad for a limited period.

ENHANCE CONNECTIONS, CREATE JOBS

According to the Center, there are still many difficulties in the implementation process in some areas, such as sending workers to work abroad, because localities are streamlining their apparatus and have not yet developed a propaganda plan.

As the unit assigned to receive and resolve unemployment insurance policies, Tien Giang Provincial Employment Service Center always focuses on improving service quality, creating maximum favorable conditions for employees to submit applications and register for unemployment policies.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Center received applications from 2,355 unemployed people and decided to grant unemployment benefits to 1,895 people, with a total payment equivalent to VND 39,374 billion.

Regarding labor market information, businesses need to recruit more than 5,000 workers, but the number of job seekers is low; people receiving unemployment benefits do not want to go back to work; the demand for unskilled labor is high but the supply is scarce, especially in the textile and seafood processing industries...

Another difficulty is that some workers have new jobs but do not declare, causing difficulties in terminating benefits and recovering money. The recovery of illegal benefits is still pending due to many reasons, especially when workers change their residence...

Building on the achieved results, in the second quarter of 2025, the Center will focus on implementing solutions to improve the quality of operations, strengthen connections, and create jobs for workers. Accordingly, the Center will maintain the organization of regular and mobile job fairs, strengthen coordination with districts, towns, cities and related units to expand the scope and participants.

Continue to recruit students to open foreign language-oriented education classes for workers who want to work abroad. Coordinate with the College of Technology - Tourism to organize vocational training classes for workers receiving unemployment benefits, such as industrial sewing equipment repair class 2nd course in 2025; beverage mixing class; Japanese class 1st course in 2025; Korean class 1st course in 2025...
