Tribute to musician Tran Long An and Meritorious Artist Phi Yen

(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City leaders visited and paid tribute to musician Tran Long An and Meritorious Artist Phi Yen, recognizing the artists' great contributions to national culture and art.

On the afternoon of August 4, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - visited and paid tribute to musician Tran Long An and Meritorious Artist Phi Yen.

Accompanying were representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, Ho Chi Minh City Dance Association and Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

This activity shows deep concern for the outstanding artists - those who have contributed to the national cultural identity, while spreading a message of gratitude and continuing traditional values in today's artistic life.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee kindly asked about the health of musician Tran Long An.

Visiting veteran artists who have made many contributions to the country's culture and arts, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his respect for the artists' persistent contributions throughout their artistic careers.

At the home of musician Tran Long An, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong kindly asked about his health, wishing the musician to take care of his health, as well as continue to "pass on the torch" to the younger generation, contributing to preserving and cultivating an advanced culture imbued with Vietnamese identity.

Meritorious Artist Phi Yen was moved when receiving affection from Ho Chi Minh City leaders

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his emotion and respect for Meritorious Artist Phi Yen's gesture when she set up the Liberation Artistic Monument to commemorate her comrades who sacrificed their lives during their time in R at her private home.

Meritorious Artist Phi Yen hopes that today's young generation will always remember the origins of a generation of artists who fought and died to protect the country during the war and expects young artists to contribute to the development of literature and art in the future.

The delegation took souvenir photos at the memorial stele of artists and soldiers of the Liberation Cultural Corps at the private home of Meritorious Artist Phi Yen.

On behalf of the city leaders, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong presented gifts and wished the veteran artists and their families good health, continued companionship and contribution to the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.
