Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his deep gratitude for the wholehearted support and assistance that the Soviet people gave to Vietnam in the struggle for independence and national reunification, and to defend the Fatherland. Not only providing spiritual and material support, many Soviet experts, Russian experts and Russian soldiers did not hesitate to endure hardships to support Vietnam during the most difficult years of the resistance wars for independence and national liberation. The achievements and sacrifices of Russian veterans have left a deep impression on the Vietnamese people. The Party, State, people and the People's Army of Vietnam are always grateful for that wholehearted, wholehearted, great and effective help.

After 49 years of national reunification and nearly 40 years of renovation, Vietnam has achieved many important achievements in all fields: strong economic development, improved people's lives, guaranteed social security; stable politics and society, increasingly solid international position...

He also respectfully invited Russian veterans in Saint Petersburg to Vietnam to attend the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. This will be an opportunity for them to return to the place where they, together with the Vietnamese people, overcame hardships and fostered friendship during the war.
