Qingyin Award - Youth Music Festival 2024 organized by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (Hangzhou, China).

The competition is sponsored by many conservatories, universities, national universities, and art schools in China and internationally. There are about 600 contestants from many countries around the world participating in this competition.

The Vietnamese delegation had 9 members participating, including "genderless singer" Tran Tung Anh. Surpassing many strong candidates, Tran Tung Anh won the Championship in the "Youth Opera" category.

Tran Tung Anh sang a mashup of famous Vietnamese chamber songs: Spring in the war zone, The girl sharpening spikes, The bird that announces good news, The ferryman on the Po Ko river, and The Lo river epic . He mixed and arranged this mashup to suit his voice and musical style for the competition.

At the competition, Tran Tung Anh performed with his two natural voices: a genderless voice and a real male voice. Tran Tung Anh said that when participating in this competition, he could have chosen to sing an international song to be more suitable. However, he chose a Vietnamese song because he wanted to bring the quintessence of Vietnamese chamber music to international friends.

"I am very proud and happy to perform Vietnamese songs on the international stage and win the highest prize. That is the motivation for me to try harder to contribute to my career and my future endeavors," Tran Tung Anh shared after receiving the award.

The singer from Bac Giang shared that, before that, he did not think he would win the highest prize in the category. He said: "I thought I would only win the encouragement prize because my name was called last. Unexpectedly, I won the Championship prize in my category.

My first feeling was surprise, then overwhelming happiness. My performance was rated the best and most excellent singing!".

The award ceremony took place at the large concert hall of the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, with a large audience and contestants, leaving Tran Tung Anh feeling overwhelmed. According to Tran Tung Anh, the results of the competition were worthy of the more than 3 months he spent practicing under the guidance of Meritorious Artist Lan Anh.

The male singer added that he participated in the Thanh Am Award - Young Music Talent Search Competition 2024 at the invitation of pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha - the representative of the competition in Vietnam.

"For this success, I am very grateful to teacher Lan Anh for her dedication and devotion to teaching me. I would like to thank pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha for inviting me and encouraging me to participate in the competition. This is just the first step in my desire to try my hand at singing opera. I still have to practice more to pursue the music I love and explore my full potential," said Tran Tung Anh.

After the music competition in China, on August 2-3, the male singer will be honored to be one of the delegates from Luc Nam district, his hometown, to attend the Congress of the Youth Union of Bac Giang province.

Tran Tung Anh (born in 1995) passed the entrance exam to the Vietnam National Academy of Music, but after a period of studying, he chose to go to the South to pursue singing pop music.

The male singer is considered a rare "phenomenon" in the Vietnamese music industry when participating in The Voice 2017. At the competition, he stunned the coaches with his unique performances on stage. Possessing a scholarly appearance and a deep, masculine voice, Tran Tung Anh has the ability to sing a sweet and high-pitched female voice.

In addition to The Voice, Tran Tung Anh also participated in music shows on television such as: Tuyet Dinh Song Ca, Guong Mat Than Quen 2019... and created a fever with his rare castrato voice.

Over the years, the guy from Bac Giang has been "causing a fever" on social networks with his cover songs in an incredibly sweet female voice.

In 2023, he made his mark when he debuted   Album Mountain Sings, including revolutionary songs that have endured through the years. The album has been nominated for Album of the Year at the 2024 Devotion Music Awards.
