High achievements in international playgrounds
Returning from the journey of conquering knowledge at the intellectual playground International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) - International Olympiad of Artificial Intelligence 2025 held in China in early August, two 11th grade students of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Phu Nhan and Hoang Cong Bao Long, excellently won the gold medal and bronze medal.
IOAI is an international intellectual playground, with the participation of the world's best high school students in the field of artificial intelligence. Contestants must go through rounds that require in-depth knowledge, programming skills, logical thinking, creative problem-solving ability and international competition spirit.
The representative of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted expressed that the achievements of Nguyen Phu Nhan and Hoang Cong Bao Long are not only worthy rewards for their persistent efforts and passion for learning, but also the pride of the school and their families. They have contributed to affirming the position of Vietnamese students on the global knowledge map.
Previously, at the European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) 2025 held in Bulgaria, Cap Kim Hoang Bao (student of class 11A3, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) also excellently won a bronze medal.
Bao shared: “The results achieved are not only personal achievements but also the guidance and support of teachers who have ignited the passion for Physics in my learning path. Thanks to the encouragement of teachers and the care of parents, the spirit of learning has been fostered, helping me dare to dream big, think far and act responsibly, so that I understand more that I need to try harder and make more efforts in the future.”
Continuing the achievements in international competitions, last school year, Huynh Huy Hung and Nguyen Nhat Tuan Kiet, students of class 12A4, won second prize at the 75th International Science and Engineering Competition (ISEP) in 2025 in the United States; Tran Quang Nhat, students of class 12A2 at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, and two brothers Nguyen Tri Hien and Nguyen Tri Hau, grade 11 at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, excellently won gold medals at the second International Mathematical Olympiad held in Turkmenistan.
Notably, at the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025, held for the first time in Da Nang, the Vietnamese delegation won 18 individual awards, of which Da Nang city won 1 silver medal, 4 bronze medals...
Focus on selection and training
Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan said that in the past school year, the entire education sector (formerly Da Nang city and Quang Nam province) continued to effectively implement emulation movements; promoted the application of information technology in management and teaching activities; strengthened solutions to reduce the rate of poor students and dropouts, increase the rate of good and excellent students; focused on the selection, training and coaching of excellent and gifted students at all levels.
From there, select and establish teams to conduct training to prepare for participating in national exams in a systematic and thoughtful manner. Thanks to that, the quality of education in all fields and levels is maintained; excellent students at the city and national levels continue to achieve good results. In particular, students participating in international exams achieve high results.
At the National Excellent Student Competition for Grade 12 High School students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the achievements of students in Da Nang city (old) increased significantly compared to the previous school year (won 70 prizes, an increase of 9 prizes), including 6 first prizes (an increase of 4 prizes) and 13 second prizes, 21 third prizes, 30 consolation prizes; the achievements of students in Quang Nam province also increased significantly with a total of 70 prizes (an increase of 12 prizes), including 2 first prizes, 12 second prizes (an increase of 1 prize), 28 third prizes (an increase of 11 prizes), 28 consolation prizes.
At the National Science and Technology Research Competition, 3/3 projects of students from the old Da Nang Department of Education and Training won prizes with 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 1 third prize; students from Quang Nam province previously had 2/3 projects winning prizes with 1 second prize and 1 third prize.
At the National Youth Informatics Competition, all 24 students from Da Nang City (old) who participated won prizes (5 first prizes, 1 second prize, 5 third prizes and 13 consolation prizes); 1 student won first prize, 1 student won consolation prize at the UPU National Letter Writing Competition...
“The students’ achievements are not only a source of personal pride, but also a highlight of Da Nang’s education sector in the international arena, a source of pride for the city’s education sector, affirming the quality of training excellent students and the city’s proper attention in discovering and nurturing talents.
