Mong Cai City has implemented many solutions to promote trade and import-export activities through the area, contributing positively to the state budget revenue.

In order to create conditions for import-export enterprises to operate effectively, every month, the border gate sectors organize to review and strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of discipline and administrative discipline; focus on removing difficulties and obstacles that arise; and be on duty 24/7 to ensure the arrangement and regulation of import-export means of transport smoothly. The city makes good use of the available space, develops in the right direction, and has depth in advantageous economic sectors. Thanks to that, in 2014, the total import-export turnover of goods is estimated at over 13 billion USD; the state budget revenue is estimated at 5,076 billion VND, an increase of 4.1% compared to 2023 (domestic revenue is 1,713 billion VND; customs revenue is 2,305 billion VND).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha, Deputy Head of Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, said: By the end of November 20, 2024, the State budget revenue through the Branch reached 2,105.2 billion VND, an increase of 51% over the same period in 2023, reaching 131.6% of the target assigned by the Provincial Customs Department; total import-export turnover of 3,632 million USD (export 2,351 million USD, import 1,281 million USD), an increase of 18% in declarations, an increase of 24% in turnover over the same period in 2023; 1,321 enterprises completed procedures , an increase of 325 enterprises over the same period in 2023. The Branch promoted administrative procedure reform, assigned civil servants in charge, and guided enterprises according to 8 groups of goods. In particular, establish specialized teams/groups led by the Branch leaders and Team commanders to directly guide and support newly attracted enterprises to carry out procedures through the Branch; direct civil servants to proactively meet enterprises to grasp information, promptly have support solutions, and create maximum favorable conditions for import and export activities.

In 2025, the city determined: "Breakthrough, accelerate economic development, attract investment, develop in-depth advantageous industries, create momentum for the new term". Accordingly, the city will create breakthroughs and innovations in mechanisms and policies, synchronously and effectively implement approved strategic plans; strengthen state management, create trust for businesses, focusing on building and implementing well tasks and solutions to improve competitiveness, service quality, improve the business environment, accompany businesses, retain businesses; increase dialogue, meetings, exchanges with businesses, promptly listen to recommendations, and remove difficulties for businesses.
