The i-Speed Internet access speed measurement system developed by the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) has just updated the latest data on the Internet quality situation in Vietnam in May.
Accordingly, the average mobile broadband download speed in Vietnam in May reached 42.11 Mbps, a slight increase compared to April (41.58 Mbps). The average mobile broadband upload speed reached 19 Mbps, higher than April (18.28 Mbps).
With fixed broadband, the average download speed nationwide in May was 100.96 Mbps, down from April (106.43 Mbps). The average upload speed in May was 102.39 Mbps, down slightly from April (103.28 Mbps).
Since April 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications has publicly announced the service quality of Internet service providers in Vietnam.
Results recorded in May show that VNPT continues to be the leading network operator in terms of mobile Internet download speed (45.82 Mbps).
Not much difference, Viettel ranked second in terms of mobile Internet download speed with 45.09 Mbps. Meanwhile, the two mobile networks MobiFone and Vietnamobile had mobile Internet download speeds of 29.47 Mbps and 7.74 Mbps respectively.
In the fixed broadband segment, statistics for May show that CMC Telecom is leading. This provider's users had an average download Internet speed of 318.52 Mbps in May. The average upload speed was 210.92 Mbps.
The next positions in terms of fixed broadband download speed in May were VNPT (99.74 Mbps), Viettel (98.17 Mbps), FPT Telecom (97.83 Mbps), SCTV (84.23 Mbps), Netnam (55.96 Mbps) and SPT (45.45 Mbps).
The Ministry of Information and Communications publishes data on Internet access service speeds to enhance publicity, transparency and public interest in service provision.
The results of the announcement also create conditions for people/organizations/enterprises to choose services and network operators according to their needs and actual conditions. This activity also improves management efficiency based on actual data, contributing to promoting the development and improving the quality of Internet access services in Vietnam.
The Department of Telecommunications recommends that people/organizations/businesses regularly use the i-Speed application to measure Internet access speed. Using the i-Speed measurement application is completely free, with no data charges.
