Searching for 4-seat car that crashed through bridge railing and fell into Dong Nai river

According to initial information, at around 6:00 p.m. on December 14, a 4-seat car was traveling on National Highway 1 in the direction of Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai province. After passing Dong Nai bridge for about 100m, it suddenly jumped onto the pedestrian path, broke a section of the railing, and plunged straight into the river.

Authorities in Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces are still trying to find the car that fell into the river.

According to observations, the location where the car fell was the gap between the old Dong Nai bridge and the new Dong Nai bridge, about 3m wide. Currently, the authorities have not been able to determine how many people were in the crashed car.

Witnesses said that after falling into the river, the 4-seat car remained afloat and drifted downstream about 50m before sinking.

The area where the incident occurred is on the border of Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces. Authorities from these two provinces mobilized 7 rescue boats and many fishermen to search about 100m of the river.

Currently, authorities are still trying to search but have not found the vehicle and the victim.
