The director of a durian exporting company in Dak Lak said that this year's durian price is not as high as last year's but is more stable. This makes it much easier for businesses to purchase durian to pay for export orders.
Currently, the price of durian in growing areas purchased at the garden ranges from 42,000-95,000 VND/kg depending on the type. This price helps farmers earn very high profits from the billion-dollar fruit.
Vietnamese durian is highly regarded for its quality compared to Thai products, and its prices are also more competitive. Thanks to that, the amount of durian exported has increased and there is still much room for development in the Chinese market, the director said.
According to Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, Vietnam's durian exports this year will certainly exceed the 3 billion USD mark. Because October is the harvest season for this fruit in large-scale growing areas such as Gia Lai and Lam Dong. Off-season durian in the Western provinces will also be harvested in the last months of this year.
This is also the time when competitors such as Thailand and Malaysia have finished their harvest season, so the price of Vietnamese durian will be very high.
The price of star jasmine flowers is 60 - 70 thousand VND/kg.

Currently, thanks to high demand, product output is quite stable, with selling prices reaching 60-70 thousand VND/kg.
“Thanks to mastering techniques and effectively preventing pests, my family's more than 4,000 square meters of passionflower are always green and can be harvested all year round. Compared to rice, passionflower brings in 5 times more income, about 200-300 million VND/ha/year,” Mr. Duc happily revealed.
Not only does it help households increase production value per unit of cultivated area, the model of growing passionflower also creates stable jobs for hundreds of local workers, with an income of 4 - 6 million VND/month.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My, My Thanh Dong commune, confided: “Since the district developed the cultivation of passion flower, many idle women in the locality have had jobs and stable income. Especially for older women who cannot apply for jobs in enterprises, flower harvesting helps them earn extra money and is close to home to take care of their families.”

Dried coconut prices increase sharply
Learning about the current high price of coconuts, according to traders who buy dry coconuts, the current decrease in coconut output is due to the previous dry months (from March to June) and the coconut gardens that produce bunches and fruit at this time are reduced, and the fruit falls off. Along with that, the source of dry coconuts is purchased by traders in Ben Tre province and exported heavily to China.
